Spoiler Alert !!!Spoilers for Fire Force Season 3 Part 2 Episode 10 ahead!
Finally, a Fire Force episode that I can praise without any restraints. Not only did it have insane action, but it also provided a good amount of exposure to the main plot. So much so that I can’t even come up with a single criticism, unlike most of the other Season 3 episodes.
Like, what did not happen in today’s episode? Watching Kurono beat his doppelganger with the power of a Japanese salaryman was absolutely peak. I mean, he has always been one of the most interesting characters in the series to me. And to see his arguably best moment of all time left me in absolute awe. But that was just the beginning!
Joker & Benimaru’s Fight Against Their Doppelgangers Was Peak
Soon after the Kurono fight, we immediately switch to Joker’s perspective. The way his doppelganger turns out insanely strong was quite funny. I mean, because of his shady and mysterious appearance, people imagine him to be stronger than he actually is.
Thus, it was hilarious to see him getting beaten to a pulp. However, guess who saves this poor guy? It’s Burns! Burns has officially returned to the storyline! My excitement was immeasurable at that point. However, he doesn’t look like his previous self. After consuming the body of his doppelganger, he now looks like one. Interesting, right?
Now the best for last! Among all the fights against the doppelgangers, the most anticipated one was inarguably the fight between Shinmon Benimaru and his doppelganger. Who would be the stronger one? Can even Beni defeat his own mirror image?
But no! It turns out we were all tricked. Because even the people of Asakusa apparently cannot comprehend how strong Beni actually is. They know he is powerful enough, but still think of him with less regard! Thus, the doppelganger also had way less firepower than Benimaru has. Like damn! Beni is stronger than what all of humanity considers the strongest! Now isn’t that insanely cool to even think about?

After the fights with the doppelgangers are over, the focus immediately shifts back to the main plot. And oh boy, I was not ready for this insane lore drop in this episode. It was about Sister Iris! I had a hunch that something wasn’t right about her, but now I know why!
As it turns out, the Sister Iris we came to know all this time was actually the doppelganger. I mean, it was also hinted at before, but I couldn’t see how that was possible. But now, after the explanation, I’m completely sold. The reason the real Iris inside the Amaterasu is so arrogant is that she has been trapped and exploited all these years.
The Amaterasu simply uses her as the source of its power to run the cities and everything. She has been under constant pain and agony, while the doppelganger made friends with everyone out there! Now I don’t know what to make of it. I’m so confused, man!
I can’t instantly hate the Iris I knew for so long, but I also can’t help but take the Amaterasu Iris’s side for everything she had to endure. Anyway, putting that aside for a while, let me talk about the episode finale a bit. The Faerie did not want to end the Cataclysm at all.
So he legit tried to make the moon fall onto Earth’s surface. I mean, when you see something like that happening in front of your own eyes, it’s hard to avoid despair. But our savior then comes in clutch. Shinra wakes up from Adolla, bursts toward the falling moon, and simply kicks it backward! At that very moment, he became One Kick Man!

Well, with the imminent crisis now averted, Shinra and Sho reach Adolla for their final battle against the Evangelist, especially Haumea. But Haumea may not go down that easily! So all in all, Episode 22 (Episode 10 of Season 3 Part 2) was a hell of a ride.
If the final ending of Fire Force goes out with a banger episode like this, then any complaints I had with the series may just get rewritten! From action to storytelling, direction, and character dialogue, everything was near-perfect in this episode. Thus, it does deserve a high rating.
