Recently, it has been confirmed that MMA star Gina Carano had a conversation with Lucasfilm president Dave Filoni and The Mandalorian creator earlier this year on Zoom. Now, Carano has offered more details on what went down during her meeting with Favreau and Filoni, as many fans continue to speculate on her return as Cara Dune in the Star Wars franchise.

What did Gina Carano say about her Zoom call with Star Wars directors?

Following last year’s settlement between Disney and Carano over her wrongful termination lawsuit, it seems like things are finally beginning to look up for Carano’s potential return to the Star Wars franchise, as both sides continue to mend their relationship. Speaking with THR, Carano revealed that her Zoom call with the Star Wars creatives was more of a “let’s touch base” kind of conversation, while expressing how much she respects and enjoyed working with them.

“I think it was, ’let’s touch base,’” Carano shared. “Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni were two people that I always respected, and we went through two seasons together, and we had a great relationship. And even during everything that was happening, Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau were never the bad guys to me.”

Understandably, Carano wasn’t able to confirm whether or not they’ve talked about Cara Dune’s return, but she admitted that having that conversation with them was definitely important to her.

“I won’t really disclose any of that, but I will say that for me, it was an important conversation,” She continued. “To Zoom, to see each other, to mend whatever, to make sure everybody was good. And everybody was good.”

Carano also praised Favreau for the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu movie, while expressing her desire to see the end of the conflict within the Star Wars fandom regarding her controversial firing.

“Jon Favreau directed it, and he’s a good man. He’s a great storyteller. He’s an amazing artist,” she said. “And I would really like to see all of this turmoil within the Star Wars fandom kind of come to an end. It just feels like it’s a never-ending war.” She continued, “I love peace. When all parties can be happy, we can move on” from a chapter of her life she refers to as “a very harsh education.”
