Marvel’s Spider-Man has become one of Playstation’s biggest titles, and a fresh new interpretation of the wall crawling hero. With the sequel only a few months away, and the hype growing more and more each day fans have a lot to look forward to. While everyone can’t wait to face off against the likes of Venom, Kraven the Hunter, and The Lizard fans may have another villain to face that they won’t expect. There may have been a villain introduced in Marvel’s Spider-Man that may have been right under our noses, and who may appear in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Who you may ask, why none other then the creature of the night himself, Morbius the Living Vampire. Morbius is definitely an interesting character to have in this game, but the fact he may have been already introduced makes us want him to appear in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 even more. So where is he? Who is he? Well the answer might surprise you.
The Mystery of Dr. Morgan Michaels
While it may seem like a farfetched idea, Dr. Morgan Michaels may in fact be the Living Vampire himself! For those unfamiliar with this character, Morgan Michaels is a scientist who worked at Oscorp on a project called GR-27 or Devil’s Breath for short. The project was meant to be a cure for genetic diseases, but proved to be too unstable. Michaels was tasked with guarded to only sample of the Devil’s Breath. After losing the virus and saving Spider-Man’s life, Michaels has a change of heart and works to undo the chaos that Oscorp and the Devil’s Breath have caused.
He engineers a vaccine to cure everyone affected by the virus by the end of the game. So how does any of this prove that Dr. Morgan Michaels is Morbius? Michaels is presented with a fairly normal appearance, unlike the appearance fans are more familiar with which is his long dark hair. The answer lies within dialogue spoken by Spider-Man. Peter Parker states that Michaels is frail, has pale skin, and very deep dark circles under his eyes. While Peter shruges it off and declares it a lack of sleep, fans believe it to be the results of a genetic condition.
A condition that could lead Michaels to become a vampire. Now to some that may seem like an outlandish claim, but many comic book fans are still supporting this theory because of one crucial factor, his name. In the comics, Dr. Morgan Michaels is an alias for Dr. Michael Morbius aka Morbius the Living Vampire.

The Morgan Michaels Morbius
With all the evidence towards this theory seemingly confirming Morbius in Marvel’s Spider-Man, what can fans expect to see with this interpretation of the character if and when we see him in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2? The Insomniac version of Morbius is setting up similarly to the one in the comics. Both aren’t bad people; they just want to help others, but do what they must to survive. Ideally we could see Michaels slowly turning into a vampire, and throughout the game via a side quest, we could try to save and cure him of his condition. We may clash with Morbius, but by the end we might be letting him go so he can save himself.

The addition of Morbius to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would certainly add quite a twist to an already epic adventure. Do you want to see Morbius in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?
