Supergirl writer Ana Nogueira reassures fans with an update on her upcoming Wonder Woman film. Nogueira is currently writing the film that will introduce the world at large to Princess Diana in the DC universe.

What did Ana Nogueira say about the Wonder Woman DCU movie?

In a new interview, writer Ana Nogueira commented on the script for the DCU Wonder Woman movie that she’s currently working on. Nogueira reassured people that she wants to do justice and accurately portray characters that fans have loved for years and years.

“I know how much these characters mean to everyone, and my goal is always to do justice to these incredible and iconic characters that we all learned to love,” Nogueira told Screen Brief.

Nogueira had previously explained her writing process for Wonder Woman. While not offering any specifics, she said that she approaches “every character that I write from a place of what feels the most true”. Supergirl director Craig Gillespie has also not ruled out the possibility of directing Wonder Woman.

Nogueira has also written a Teen Titans movie set in the DC universe, but there has been no update on the project in over a year. Besides that, the DC universe will explore Wonder Woman’s home turf in Paradise Lost, a TV show currently in development. The show recently received a promising update, pointing to a release closer than previously expected. The series will explore the political intrigue among the residents of Themyscira or Paradise Island.

It may take a while before fans get a meaningful update on Wonder Woman, but the DC universe continues in next year’s Man of Tomorrow. The Superman sequel will reunite Supergirl with her cousin. The DC universe is also supposed to get its own Batman film, titled The Brave and the Bold.

Nogueira’s upcoming feature, Supergirl, releases in theaters on June 26, 2026.
