XO, Kitty Season 3 is here, and the Moon-Covey ship has finally sailed. This season followed Kitty (Anna Cathcart) and Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee) as they navigated a committed relationship during their senior year at KISS in Seoul. It ended with them heading together to Portland in business class after admitting their mistakes and an epic confession of love. Sweet.

The 8-episode arc saw the youngest Covey sister navigating her senior year at KISS, finalizing her romantic, personal, and academic future, focusing heavily on character growth and moving away from the chaotic drama of previous seasons toward more mature decisions (see our review of the season here). Here is a breakdown of every major question answered for this season:

Spoiler Alert !!!Spoilers for XO, Kitty Season 3 Ahead!

1. Does Kitty End Up With Min Ho?

Yesss. After Kitty asked to join Min Ho on tour during the summer following their slow-burning romance in season 2, the two finally began their official relationship in season 3. But while their relationship deepened over the course of the season, it wasn’t without challenges of its own. Their bond was tested by their personal flaws and the challenges of high school.

However, the two eventually learn to trust each other and become each other’s support system. In fact, Min Ho even considers Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) their anniversary, the moment he realized his true feelings for her. And even though they broke up in the middle of this season, the duo wound up back together by the end of it.

The end of season 3 showed Min Ho rushing to the subway station to patch things up with Kitty before her flight to Portland, Oregon. He also texts her the song he wrote for her, confessing his true feelings. When the two finally reach each other on the subway, they say “I love you” and kiss like no one else is watching, sharing one of the most swoonworthy moments of the entire season.

In an arc that turned their relationship into one of enemies-to-lovers, the two started as enemies (more like frenemies), forced to be in close proximity and share a living space at KISS in season one. Then, after Min Ho’s confession of his love for Kitty at the end of Season 1, the two mended their relationship and became true friends in Season 2.

2. Why did Kitty and Min Ho Break Up?

Although both of them are madly in love, Kitty’s insecurities, lack of trust, and misunderstandings eventually drive her and Min Ho away from each other at one point in time. This started off with Marius’ coming back, before Min Ho’s ‘first love’ Gigi further had Kitty getting into her head.

The nail in the coffin was when Kitty found out that Eunice was pregnant and, due to miscommunication, assumed Min Ho was the father (a misunderstanding because Eunice wasn’t even pregnant in the first place). She accused him of lying to her and hooking up with their friend Eunice (Han Bi Ryu) during the summers, after she had confessed her feelings to him.

While, in Kitty’s defense, she questioned if she could truly fit in her boyfriend’s “big, fancy world,” which is why she “got in my head,” Min Ho felt that Kitty had “never” trusted him. As he said,

I didn’t expect my own girlfriend would believe the worst in me. [Kitty: I got in my head…] Like you did with Gigi. Like you did with Marius. You know, I get it now. It’s not that you don’t trust me. It’s that you’ve never trusted me. I’ve done everything… to show you how I feel about you. I’ve given you every reason for you to believe in me. But the problem isn’t me, it’s you. We’re done.

Devastated that Kitty didn’t give him the benefit of the doubt, Min Ho broke up with her. This initially had Kitty spiraling for days before Lara Jean came over to get her out of her depression. But ultimately, this breakup also led Kitty to look within herself, figure out what was important to her, and grow personally.

If anything, during their time apart, the two learned to love themselves better and reflected on what they really wanted.

3. What Happened With Dae and Eunice?

While Dae (Minyeong Choi) and Eunice broke up in season 2, this season saw the two of them eventually finding their way back to each other. In fact, it is revealed that, during her worldwide tour in the summers, Eunice was actually busy spending her time with Dae in Paris (which also leads to her assuming that she was pregnant when she consecutively missed her periods).

By episode 5, though, Eunice realizes that she no longer wants to be a pop star, and Dae is there to support her decision. He even helps her with her studies for that semester, and she asks him out to be her date to Kitty’s surprise 18th birthday party. Oh, and by the way, the two even share a kiss during the party, with Dae proving he’s no longer scared to show off his girlfriend and new relationship.

Plus, in a plot twist of events, Dae decides to pursue music himself after not getting into Seoul National University (SNU), his dream college for engineering.

4. Are Juliana and Yuri Back Together?

Yuri (Gia Kim) and Juliana (Regan Aliyah) were certainly trying to find their footing by the end of this season, though it can’t be said yet if they’re back to being exclusive.

For a quick recap, during season 1 and halfway through season 2, the two were madly in love, and broke up after Yuri cheated on Juliana by kissing Kitty (who had feelings for Yuri, back then), who really liked Praveena (Sasha Bhasin) at the time. Soon after, Praveena and Juliana start dating, the time during which Yuri is not only single but also broke, after her family loses everything.

But by the end of the season, Yuri decides to launch her own fashion line, Riches to Rags, stitching herself back up with the help of her friends. Juliana chooses to help her ex-girlfriend with her dress designs during this new journey of hers, and realizes she still has feelings for Yuri – an epiphany that Praveena helped her realize.

Ultimately, Praveena and Juliana decide to part ways amicably, remaining friendly, and at Kitty’s party, Juliana asks Yuri to dance. So is there hope for these exes to reunite? Who knows, a potential new season just might explore the same!

5. Where Are Kitty and Min Ho Headed Now?

After the pair’s sweet confessions of their love for each other, Kitty and Min Ho are both shown to board a flight to Portland, Oregon, together, flying business class. What for, you might ask: Well, to see and meet the city and people “that made Kitty Song Covey.”

Anna Cathcart, for one, says this trip is proof that Kitty and Min Ho’s relationship is deepening and maturing. As she told Tudum by Netflix:

Showing someone your hometown and bringing them home to meet your family is so special and intimate. Kitty knows Min Ho’s world, but he doesn’t really know her original orbit of what built her. That would be very pivotal and significant for their relationship.

Plus, this season ending moment of the two sitting together in business class (holding hands!) also serves as a callback to the end of season 1, when Min Ho sat in coach with Kitty to keep her company following her breakup with Dae (and also confessed his feelings to her).

6. Are Jin and Q Still in a Relationship?

Fortunately, yes. Although Marius (Sule Thelwell) spent practically the entire season trying to reignite his relationship with Q (Anthony Keyvan), manipulating information and attempting to drive a wedge between Jin (Joshua Lee) and Q, his pursuit only made Q realize it’s really Jin that he’s truly in love with. And so, he leaves no chance to prove his love to him.

Initially, Jin is understandably nervous to trust their connection again and even admits that a part of him wants to make Q grovel for life. However, he also admits that he wants to make the most of the time that they have together before Q leaves for college (he got admitted into USC), so the pair ultimately decide to navigate their relationship status.

7. What Happened With Jiwon and Alex?

Another couple formed this season was Jiwon and Alex – and yes, Kitty’s matchmaking instincts were once again actually on point. As it turns out, Jiwon (Hojo Shin) and Alex (Peter Thurnwald) had a secret relationship all semester, which they chose to keep a secret due to the rules at KISS not allowing teachers to be romantically involved.

But the more surprising part was the fact that Jiwon is actually pregnant, and both she and Alex are excited and gearing up to become new parents. When Alex tells his father, Principal Lee (Michael K. Lee), about this, he shows happiness and excitement to be there for his grandchild’s firsts, since he wasn’t able to be there for Alex’s childhood.

Meanwhile, Jiwon, with the help of Kitty and Alex, also manages to break the news to her halmeoni (Jung Hye-Sun), who is initially reluctant as she was about Jiwon moving to Seoul in the first place, but then ultimately shows happiness for them, vowing to show up for her granddaughter and soon-to-arrive great-grandchild.

8. Is There Going to be XO, Kitty Season 4?

A still from XO, Kitty Season 3. | Credit: Netflix.

Well, as of this writing, there is no confirmed news about XO, Kitty being renewed for a fourth season. Although the end of season 3 left significant room for another potential season, XO, Kitty Season 4 hasn’t been greenlit just yet. As Kitty said in the final episode:

I had so many expectations coming into my senior year. I even wrote them all down in a list. I wanted it to be perfect. It wasn’t. It was… messy. Sometimes it hurts. But it was beautiful, and I wouldn’t change a thing. Even the surprises. There may be even more to come, and I’m okay with that.

So if the series gets renewed for another season, then the fourth installment could likely document Kitty and friends’ adventures leading up to their graduation, considering how season 3 had them halfway to graduation and halfway to goodbye. Who knows, fans just might be in to witness more of the youngest Covey sister’s chaotic yet heartwarming journey!

That’s all for now. What do you think about all this, in particular, this latest season of XO, Kitty? Got some thoughts and opinions of your own to share, or perhaps, questions to ask?
