Ryan Reynolds is a big name in the Hollywood film industry. Becoming a part of big franchises, first as DC’s Green Lantern, then Fox and Marvel’s Deadpool, the actor quickly even sneaked into Marvel Studios, carrying the same red humorous mantle. However, the one franchise he once wished to be a part of was Star Wars.
According to a February 2022 article by Variety, Reynolds, who we have been praising for his movies like The Free Guy, shed light on the franchise that talks about a galaxy far, far away. This was around the release of his Netflix film The Adam Project, which hints at the franchise having a joking reference. Speaking of Star Wars, Reynolds stated that he would have a tough time saying no to a Star Wars movie if offered.
That would be a real hard thing to say no to, but honestly — I’m not making this up — it’s not something I’ve ever thought of.
In case he joins the aforementioned franchise, he would fit perfectly in the character of Hondo Ohnaka. For those unversed, he is a space pirate, who also reminds many of the beloved and nostalgic portrayal of Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow.
The Adam Project was a science fiction action entry that also starred Mark Ruffalo, alongside other highly acclaimed names from the Hollywood film industry, Jennifer Garner, Zoe Saldana, as well as Walker Scobel, from the newly loved Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
Ryan Reynolds Is Perfect Hondo Ohnaka, They’ve Got Equal Satire

Ryan Reynolds is someone who has always been on our minds, not only because of the roles he has played, but also because of his utter humor and ability to bring a silly touch to the darkest situations. Maybe that’s why he was born to play Deadpool. However, when it comes to playing Hondo Ohnaka, Reynolds gives the audience another reason to say he is a perfect casting for the character.
Hondo Ohnaka is someone known for bringing trouble wherever he goes. The character was previously voiced by Jim Cummings, instantly gaining traction with the Star Wars audience. He is seen wearing a helmet along with his protective goggles and is a selfish, greedy, and ruthless hostage taker.
Hondo can easily become a villain, but his humour has always led him to be a sort of anti-hero. Honda Ohnaka was first seen in a beloved episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Season 1, Episode 11, Dooku Captured, as the leader of a drunken pirate gang, welcoming the audience on the planet Florrum.
Looking at the characteristics of Hondo Ohnaka, it only excites us to see Reynolds donning the jacket and taking a drunken trip through space. After all, the dark world of Star Wars needs someone to make us laugh.
