DC Comics announces three new separate comic book series focused on multiple legacy superhero teams. The announcement comes as an expansion of DC’s Next Level publishing initiative, with Red Hood leading one of them.

Teen Titans, Doom Patrol and Legion of Super-Heroes return in DC’s Next Level line

The three teams getting their own DC Comics series are Teen Titans, Doom Patrol, and Legion of Super-Heroes. The Next Level titles will stand alongside DC’s ongoing and limited series across the canonical and the Absolute universes. The new line was written to be friendly to new readers.

“These books are set in continuity,” said Josh Williamson, DC co-architect. “While the series will be independent reads and not heavily tied to other books, they will exist alongside DC’s ongoing comic book series like Superman, Batman, Justice League Unlimited, and more.”

“The DC Next Level books are very new-reader friendly and will roll out over time,” added Scott Snyder, DC co-architect. “Like the Absolute line, this is an initiative that welcomes new readers looking for a jumping-on spot for DC’s main line of comic books.”

First up is Legion of Super-Heroes, written by Joshua Williamson and Hayden Sherman, with cover art from Hayden Sherman. The series will get variant covers from Jim Lee, Mark Spears, Yasmine Putri, and Hayden Sherman.

DC’s new Legion of Super-Heroes is set one thousand years into the future, where superheroes are outlawed. The story will follow Brainiac 1 as he assembles a team of heroes to solve R.J. Brande’s murder. The first issue will be a 40-page comic and will debut on September 2, 2026.

The next new comic series is Teen Titans by Kyle Higgins and Daniele Di Nicuolo. The series will see a new generation of heroes take charge, including Fairplay, Cheshire Cat, Proxy, and Wildcard. Of course, the team is led by Jason Todd, aka the Red Hood. Teen Titans #1 will have variant covers by Dan Mora, Hayden Sherman, and Sanford Greene. The first issue of Teen Titans goes on sale on September 2, 2026.

The Doom Patrol from Darcy Van Poelgeest and Niko Henrichon is the final new comic series. It will start with the Doom Patrol being broke and adopting a heroes-for-hire model to survive. The story starts simply with the team trying to solve the case of a missing cat, but the team quickly finds themselves dealing with an “out-of-this-world situation”.

The 32-page debut issue of The Doom Patrol will feature variant covers by Clayton Crain, Ian Bertram, Ashley Wood, and Hayden Sherman. The Doom Patrol #1 goes on sale on September 2, 2026.

These are just three of the dozen new DC All In titles. Other DC Next Level titles include Deathstroke, Deadshot, Batwoman, Lobo, and more.
