Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has responded to a viral report claiming that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) told a Lagos court it had no evidence to support his allegations of financial misconduct against his brothers and former P-Square partners, Paul and Jude Okoye.
The long-standing dispute resurfaced after Punch reported that during a cross-examination at the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja on Friday, November 28, 2025, the EFCC’s counsel, Mohammed Bashir, told the court that the agency could not provide evidence to back Peter’s claim that his brothers fraudulently withdrew $800,000 from their joint company account.
According to the report, the EFCC lawyer had said: “We do not have it. It is his evidence. Let him prove it. I can’t give what I don’t have.” The publication also stated that the anti-graft agency denied having records of 47 bank accounts Peter previously alleged were operated by Jude Okoye and that documents presented in court contradicted Peter’s claim of owning 80% of Northside Entertainment Ltd.
Peter Okoye has now pushed back strongly against the story. In a statement shared on his social media pages, he dismissed the report as “jokes and propaganda,” insisting that no such statement was made in court by the EFCC investigator.

The singer originally filed a petition in 2024 alleging that Jude diverted funds belonging to the P-Square brand, mismanaged their joint company’s financial structure, and failed to declare multiple bank accounts.
The family dispute, which contributed to the group’s breakup, has remained a subject of public interest, and the latest controversy has once again brought the rift into the spotlight.
