FROM Season 4 Episode 3 titled Merrily We Go, saw the townsfolk in complete mental disarray as the Matthews family tries to solve the mystery individually. The ending of the episode saw a defeated Boyd sit at his wife Abby’s grave, conversing with the great beyond in need of help.
During his speech, a hand reaches out from underneath the ground and pulls at him. Is this the ghost of Abby pulling him into the depths of the ground? We do not know if this is a friendly visit or not, with the chances of this being friendly very minimal in the town of FROM, which is known to be twisted.

Boyd Wants to Right the Wrongs of Abby’s Past
One thing’s for sure, FROM Season 4 Episode 3 spent time showing Sheriff Boyd attempt to wrong the rights of Abby’s distressed past. His wife suffered a mental breakdown and began killing other people, leading to Boyd making the impossible call to shoot her down. The visions of her haunted him for a long time until Season 2’s music box episode.
The psychological scars remain, and Boyd tries to get Acosta, the cop, to help him with perusing the storage items in hopes of finding something he missed. Boyd explicitly reveals he is doing this because Acosta reminds him of Abby.
Acosta was put in jail for trying to escape the town and appears on the verge of mental collapse, similar to Abby, who was always trying to find solutions. Acosta’s arc in the next episode will likely see her finding some clues if FROM decides to give the town a break.
FROM S4E3: Everyone ‘Merrily’ Goes Around in Circles

Most of Merrily We Go is a classic FROM episode of doom and despair. Jim’s death lingers heavily in the air with a funeral scene that was invaded by a murder of crows. The town stands in silence as they swarm around the bodies, “celebrating” the death of Jim.
We know that his death was at the hands of The Man in Yellow, who has now infiltrated the town as the naive-looking Sophie. Sophie’s dastardly plans involve ripping the town apart from the inside, but we’ve yet to see this happen apart from a slight skirmish with Julie.
Speaking of Julie, she tries to solve the mystery of Ethan’s “Storywalker” theory by finding the books he used. With the help of Randall, she managed to find them, but will Randall make it out of the collapsed house?
Ethan attempts to find The Lake of Tears, a mission the ghost of his father set him on at the end of FROM Season 4 Episode 2. Tabitha has completely lost it, attempting to sacrifice herself in the hopes of finding a solution. She is greeted by a different Boy in White, telling her ominously that she is running out of time.
The groups found themselves stumbling into one another at the end of the episode, coalescing into a frightened Victor. The man-child had urinated himself out of fear when seeing The Man in Yellow’s suit on the forest floor.
This is likely fear rooted in the past trauma of the previous town being decimated by the fearsome entity, leaving only poor Victor alive. This pushes things into next gear as the town might become aware of his presence among them.
