Clayface is getting a new series ahead of the forthcoming DCU movie.
DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Clayface is releasing in United States theaters this fall. Co-written by Mike Flanagan and directed by James Watkins, the DCU movie will see Tom Rhys Harries star as the titular Batman villain. Whether or not Batman actually shows up in the flick remains to be seen.
What do we know about the new Clayface series?
Per The Beat, DC has now announced that a new Clayface six-issue comic series is launching ahead of the forthcoming movie. Titled Clayface: Celebrity Dirt, the series comes from writer Jude Ellison S. Doyle, artist Fran Galán, colorist Patricio Delpeche, and letterer Tom Napolitano. The man cover comes from Galán, with variants by Mike Del Mundo and Dave Johnson.

Doyle said in a statement, “Basil Karlo is one of the most beautifully flawed and human characters in the Batman universe. He can become anybody he wants, but he can never escape himself; he looks perfect when the cameras are on him, but he’s a disintegrating mess behind the scenes.”
Clayface: Celebrity Dirt #1 arrives on July 8, 2026. The movie, meanwhile, is dated for October 23, 2026.
