Recent manga chapters also show that his right leg and right hand were not normal. The panel suggests that he had a peg in place of his right leg, and his right hand closely resembles a hook.

The primary connection between Joy Boy and Luffy is that the latter has consumed the same devil fruit as Joy Boy, and both of them have awakened its ability, which turns them into the incarnation of the sun god Nika. In one of the poneglyps, Joy Boy apologized to the Fish-Man island and Poseidon for breaking his promise, but also stated that someone in the future would fulfill it. This is known as the prophecy of Joy Boy.
