The character design for Yoshi in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has been leaked.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie arrives in 2026. A sequel to 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie, the animated comedy adventure film is based on Nintendo’s 2007 video game and is being directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic.
Following the post-credit scene tease in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, many Mario fans expected Yoshi to be part of the forthcoming sequel. Now, Yoshi’s presence has been seemingly confirmed, and the character design has been revealed, thanks to a Pillsbury cookie box tie-in marketing campaign..

Official plot details for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie remain under wraps at this time. The 2007 game follows Mario as he embarks on a journey across the universe to save Princess Peach after she is kidnapped by Bowser. During this adventure, he meets and befriends Rosalina and a species of adorable star-like creatures called Lumas.
The so-far announced voice cast includes Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Nintendo and Illumination’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be released in United States theaters on April 3, 2026, from Universal Pictures.
Meanwhile, The Super Mario Bros. Movie is available to stream on Prime Video at this time. That film was a massive hit at the box office, as it made approximately $1.3 billion globally. It is the highest-grossing film based on a video game of all time, the fifth-highest-grossing animated film of all time, and the 18th-highest-grossing film of all time. That movie was also directed by Horvath and Jelenic.
