Jason Momoa has shared an exciting update regarding Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’s production.
Momoa has been cast as Lobo in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU, with the character making his first appearance in 2026’s Supergirl movie. Directed by Craig Gillespie, the film will see Milly Alcock play Kara Zor-El/Supergirl.

On Instagram, Momoa said, “THATS A WRAP ON LOBO so thankful to play this role. And very thankful for my present mahalo kelly ben todd all the crew at @iamspecialized for my MINECRAFT present. The post also sees Momoa riding a bike around London while telling people that he has wrapped production on the DCU movie.

The cast of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow also includes Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, and Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze.
The movie is based on the 2021-2022 comic book miniseries of the same name by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. The solicitation for the first issue reads, “Kara Zor-El has seen some epic adventures over the years, but finds her life without meaning or purpose. Here she is, a young woman who saw her planet destroyed and was sent to Earth to protect a baby cousin who ended up not needing her. What was it all for? Wherever she goes, people only see her through the lens of Superman’s fame. Just when Supergirl thinks she’s had enough, everything changes. An alien girl seeks her out for a vicious mission. Her world has been destroyed, and the bad guys responsible are still out there. She wants revenge, and if Supergirl doesn’t help her, she’ll do it herself, whatever the cost. Now a Kryptonian, a dog, and an angry, heartbroken child head out into space on a journey that will shake them to their very core.”
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will be released in United States theaters on June 26, 2026.
