As the Miles Morales casting speculations in a live-action Spider-Verse project continue to heat up, Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin, who is a major fan-favorite for the role, is now gaining more traction than ever before. This comes after a fan recently compared him to Tom Holland, who is another fan-favorite portrayer of Peter Parker.

In a video shared by @mcgluvs on X, a fan compiled multiple clips of McLaughlin trying out stunts that Holland pulled off before being cast as one of the Spider-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And, surprisingly enough, he managed to pull off pretty much every single stunt so efficiently, like it was a piece of cake for him.
This has since only further boosted fans’ interest in seeing him become the real-life counterpart of Miles, since flexibility like this is one of the core requirements for being cast as the web-slinger.

Apart from the flexibility factor, another thing that intrigues fans about Caleb McLaughlin enough for them to rally for him to be cast as Miles Morales in a live-action adaptation is his physical features.
Undeniably enough, the star perfectly fits the physical description of Miles and would inevitably leave no stone unturned in his performance. This is true considering his spectacular acting prowess and the unparalleled emotional range he depicted, moving from comedy to intense drama across Stranger Things, especially in the later seasons.

Caleb McLaughlin Called Miles Morales “A Dream Role”

A few months ago, in October last year, right before the release of Stranger Things Season 5, six stars of the core cast came together to play a game for TIME where they tested how well they knew one another after filming five seasons of the hit Netflix series. During this, Caleb McLaughlin had paired up with his fellow co-star, Sadie Sink.
One of the questions asked during the game was to guess what was McLaughlin’s dream acting role. To this, while the actor himself wrote on his slate, ‘Avatar,’ Sink wrote on her slate, ‘Spider-Man/Miles.’ To that, McLaughlin replied,
That’s a dream role, but Avatar. I would want to be an Avatar.
Since then, it didn’t take long for fans to join the dots and share Sink’s vision, viewing him as the ultimate choice to bring Miles to life in a real-time project. Plus, his own calling it “a dream role” further boosted fans’ spirits about his potential casting in the respective role.
But while that’s that, there’s also the character’s Afro-Latino identity, which is one box that McLaughlin unfortunately doesn’t check. Yet, if judging whether he would be a good choice based on his stunt skills and physical features, the uncanny resemblance between the two is more than enough to establish him as the next fan-favorite Miles Morales.
