The upcoming Darth Maul show, titled Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, has received a unique release date schedule.

Lucasfilm Animation’s Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord is a new animated show created by Dave Filoni. Set after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, it follows the iconic villain who first appeared in The Phantom Menace. Sam Witwer is once again returning to voice Maul.

What is the release date plan for the Star Wars Darth Maul show?

Following the recent release of the Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord trailer, it has now been announced that the first two episodes of the series will premiere on Disney+ on April 6, 2026, meaning Star Wars fans won’t have to wait much longer to check it out.

Two new episodes will continue to be released each week, with the final two then airing on the infamous Star Wars holiday, May the 4th.

A description of the series reads, “Set after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, this pulpy adventure finds Maul plotting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire. There, he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who could be the apprentice he is seeking to aid him in his relentless pursuit for revenge.”

In addition to Witwer, the voice cast includes Gideon Adlon as Devon Izara, Wagner Moura as Brander Lawson, Richard Ayoade as Two-Boots, Dennis Haysbert as Master Eeko-Dio-Daki, Chris Diamantopoulos as Looti Vario, Charlie Bushnell as Rylee Lawson, Vanessa Marshall as Rook Kast, David C. Collins as Spybot, A.J. LoCascio as Marrok, and Steve Blum as Icarus.

The series is developed by Filoni and Matt Michnovetz, while Brad Rau serves as the supervising director. Filoni, Michnovetz, and Rau also all serve as executive producers alongside Athena Yvette Portillo, Carrie Beck, and Josh Rimes, while Alex Spotswood is the co-executive producer.
