Peter Parker just did something no solo superhero has ever managed. Nineteen days after opening, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has crossed $2 billion at the worldwide box office (via Variety). Only one film in history has ever climbed that mountain faster, and it took an entire universe of Avengers to do it.
Destin Daniel Cretton’s film, which opened July 31, 2026, is now the highest-grossing Spider-Man movie ever made and the biggest comic book film of the decade. It only took the movie 19 days to achieve the $2 billion feat, while Avengers: Endgame took 11 days. Ne Zha 2 is third, as it took 33 days to achieve the same. Titanic, by comparison, took years and multiple re-releases to hit $2 billion.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Is the Eighth Movie in the $2 Billion Club
Only seven films had ever gotten into the elite $2 billion club until now. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now the eighth, and the first solo superhero movie on the list. Ranked by lifetime worldwide gross, the club looks like this:
RankMovieTotal Box Office1Avatar$2.92 billion2Avengers: Endgame$2.80 billion3Avatar: The Way of Water$2.33 billion4Titanic$2.26 billion5Ne Zha 2$2.26 billion6Star Wars: The Force Awakens$2.07 billion7Avengers: Infinity War$2.05 billion8Spider-Man: Brand New Day$2.02 billion
The bottom half of this table is under real threat. Brand New Day is still in theaters and sits just $30 million behind Infinity War and roughly $50 million behind The Force Awakens. Both should fall within days. Titanic and Ne Zha 2, hovering around $2.26 billion, are a longer reach but not an impossible feat.
What makes the latest entry special is that it is one guy in a suit. Tom Holland‘s movie arrived four years after No Way Home and without a single multiverse cameo to lean on, which makes the number unique among the list.

Three weekends in, nothing has knocked it off. Spider-Man: Brand New Day held the top spot in North America with roughly $70 million, even with two big new releases in the mix (via Variety). Warner Bros.’ dinosaur thriller The End of Oak Street opened in third with a soft $21 million, while Paramount’s PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie debuted at fourth with $20 million. The Odyssey held second in its fifth weekend in theaters.
Destin Daniel Cretton’s film opened on July 31, 2026, with $168 million on its first day, the biggest single day any movie has ever posted in North America. It reached $1 billion worldwide in six days, second only to Endgame. Its second weekend brought in $145 million, one of only eight second weekends in history to top $100 million.
With $785 million at the domestic box office, it is now the fourth highest-grossing movie stateside. It now has No Way Home, Avengers: Endgame, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens to beat at the domestic box office.
