A big MCU casting theory has emerged after the release of the Spider-Man 4 trailer.
Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day, also known as Spider-Man 4, will be released in United States theaters this summer. Directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Wonder Man’s Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie will once again see Tom Holland reprise his MCU role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
“Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves,” the synopsis reads. “Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.”
What is the new Spider-Man 4 casting theory?
Some Marvel fans are convinced that Keith David’s voice is the one that is providing the narration in the Spider-Man 4 trailer. While some think he might be dubbing the voice for Tombstone, who is set to be played by Marvin Jones III, others think that David might actually be playing the Jackal.
off topic, but that is like 100% keith david speaking right ?? https://t.co/yVWJTZ9jIo— Tyler A? (@tylerayyeee) March 18, 2026

Marvel has not yet confirmed whether or not the Jackal will show up in Brand New Day, though there have been plenty of rumors suggesting he’ll appear, and MCU fans also thought they spotted a Jackal nod in the Brand New Day trailer. David’s casting in the new Spider-Man movie has also not been announced at this time.
With a supporting cast that further includes Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher and Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Spider-Man 4 arrives on July 31, 2026.
