New rumor claims Sadie Sink‘s role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day may have a twist. While her role in the MCU film has yet to be officially confirmed, a new update has only added to the excitement surrounding the former Stranger Things star’s appearance.
Sadie Sink’s role might have a twist in Spider-Man: Brand New Day
According to insider My Time To Shine Hello, there could be a major twist attached to Sadie Sink’s character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The insider also claimed that Sadie “is the BEST part of Spider-Man Brand New Day”, based on test screenings.
Although the scooper has a solid track record, nothing has been officially confirmed, so fans should take the claims with a grain of salt.

The twist could be related to ongoing fan theories and rumors suggesting that Sadie Sink will play Jean Grey.
In March, another trusted scooper, Jeff Sneider, had claimed, “It’s true. Wow, it’s true. I hear that she is, in fact, playing Jean Grey.” Deadline had also previously reported that “the prevailing theory is she’ll be introduced as X-Men character Jean Grey.”
Jean Grey is a famous X-Men character in Marvel Comics, although she hasn’t made any appearance in any MCU project so far.
Alongside Sink, Spider-Man: Brand New Day also features Zendaya reprising her role of MJ from the previous three Spider-Man installments. Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal, Michael Mando, Jacob Batalon, Luke Gross, and Marvin ‘Krondon’ Jones III are also set to appear in key roles.
As for Sink, she was recently seen in the final season of Stranger Things on Netflix, reprising her beloved role of Max Mayfield. Prior to that, she also appeared in the 2025 musical drama O’Dessa and the 2024 thriller A Sacrifice.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
