Curiosity is mounting regarding the future of Spider-Noir. Fans are keen to find out if the noir-themed Marvel series will make a comeback for Season 2 or if MGM+ intends to conclude the show after its initial season.
Here’s all the information we have up to this point about the status of Spider-Noir and whether it has been canceled or renewed for Season 2 on MGM+.
Has Spider-Noir been canceled or renewed for Season 2?
Spider-Noir has not been canceled, nor has MGM+ officially renewed it for Season 2 yet.
For those interested in the future of Spider-Noir, there must be questions lingering about whether MGM+ has decided to cancel or renew the series for Season 2. Currently, there is no news regarding its renewal status. Given that the latest live-action Marvel show has just premiered, the network is probably waiting to assess viewership figures, audience feedback, and streaming performance before making any decisions about its future.
Although an official renewal announcement has yet to be made, there seem to be encouraging signs surfacing for the series already. According to reports from GamesRadar+, the show’s developer, Oren Uziel, hinted in an interview with SFX Magazine that the creative team has been brainstorming potential ideas for a second season.
With reported plans to expand the noir-inspired narrative into a World War II setting, the showrunner indicated that the war would serve as an “amazing canvas” for Season 2. This suggests that the creators might be willing to continue the story if Season 1 is successful and if MGM+ gives it approval.
Spider-Noir premiered on MGM+ on May 25 in the U.S. It will become available globally on Prime Video on May 27. The series features an older private investigator version of Spider-Man set in a dark, 1930s-inspired New York universe, making it one of the more distinctive Marvel adaptations in recent years.
The series cast features Nicolas Cage, Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, Brendan Gleeson, and others.
