Several iconic feuds have dominated the world of professional wrestling throughout its history. The heated rivalry between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins is another major altercation the WWE universe has witnessed in this regard.
Ever since the Original Tribal Chief returned to the squared circle following his devastating loss at WrestleMania 41, fans had speculated that he would once again be face-to-face with Seth Rollins inside the ring. However, there are reports that the feud may not become a reality, at least for this year.
According to a recent report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, given the tight schedule Reigns has because of his featured appearance at Survivor Series: WarGames and Royal Rumble, the highly anticipated clash between him and Rollins doesn’t appear to be happening until WrestleMania next year.
Who Could Be the Potential Opponent of Roman Reigns for Survivor Series: Wargames This Year?
The tensions between Roman Reigns and ‘The Vision’ have been boiling down for some time now. With Reigns and Bronson Reed now officially facing each other at Crown Jewel 2025, the most likely candidate to face the former Universal Champion is someone from The Vision, most likely Bron Breakker. A potential clash between Reigns and Breakker will determine who has the better spear in professional wrestling in the modern era.
Reigns and CM Punk have their share of bittersweet history in the recent past. Both prolific performers inside the ring have helped each other out on numerous occasions because of storyline developments and have been bitter adversaries during and beyond their triple-stakes clash at WrestleMania 41, in which both of them were deceived by ‘The Oracle’ Paul Heyman.
Punk’s rise to being a major world title holder is a matter of when rather than if in the WWE. Given that it is happening in the near future, Reigns can be a viable rival to challenge him with either the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship on the line. The clash between them will be a monumental one since it will establish a direction of sorts in the locker room between two WWE superstars who possess the qualities to become the leading figures in the company.

A potential standout rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns can also not be ruled out for Survivor Series: WarGames. It’s now a fact that Rhodes is the face of the company, and Reigns carried the WWE in the past.
A face-off between them can be flipped by WWE creative heads in either direction. They can either consolidate the babyface persona of the American Nightmare or make Reigns dominate him and trigger a highly anticipated heel turn for Rhodes. If such a situation develops, the ‘Homelander of the WWE’ will have no option but to put morality aside and face Roman Reigns with everything he has.
Survivor Series is known for bringing astonishing changes to the existing dynamics of the company. Nobody thought in 2016 that Brock Lesnar would be crushed by Goldberg inside the ring at Survivor Series, which would initiate one of the most iconic rivalries in the company. To that effect, the WWE creative heads can surprise once again and create a once-in-a-lifetime clash between John Cena and Roman Reigns for this year’s PLE event.
Cena only has a handful of appearances left before the end of his retirement tour. With AJ Styles poised to face him at Crown Jewel 2025, WWE cannot keep the excitement levels from reaching a tipping point. The magic that the Cenation protagonist and the ‘Phenomenal One’ are expected to create can only be outdone if Reigns is booked as the next opponent for the 17-time World Champion.
Cena and Reigns have faced each other one-on-one on two different occasions, but the ‘never-seen 17’ has not managed to defeat him up until now. A win against Reigns towards the end of his career will be a standout moment in his professional wrestling career.
Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins Would Be a Dream Match for WrestleMania 42

Roman Reigns facing Seth Rollins might not be possible this year, but this could be a dream clash for the next WrestleMania in Vegas. A potential clash between them at the grandest stage of the company makes much more sense. Seth Rollins had tricked Reigns at WrestleMania 41. The moment triggered the beginning of The Vision as Paul Heyman switched sides and abandoned Reigns, who had been the dominant force in the company for a long time until that moment.
The leader of The Bloodline then vanished from the WWE programming, giving an automatic go-ahead for Seth Rollins and his associates, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. The former Universal Champion only made a return during the July 14, 2025, episode of Monday Night RAW (via WWE), where he managed to save his cousin Jey Uso and CM Punk from a ruthless attack by ‘The Vision’.

The battle lines between Rollins and Reigns are, therefore, more evident than ever before. Seth Rollins has taken it upon himself to determine the direction in which the company is headed. Reigns, on the other hand, is not only a challenger but also a strict ideological opponent to what Rollins and his associates want to do inside the squared circle and in the WWE locker room.
A potential clash between Reigns and Rollins needs proper build-up and serious storyline work from the WWE. This might be the last chance to establish the supremacy of either of these prolific performers inside the ring over the other and cement their legacy as one of the all-time greats of the company.
What remains to be seen is the manner in which this heated feud further develops and what steps Triple H takes to make this potential match truly memorable for the fans.
