Mistfall Hunter has only just launched, and players are already asking the same question: which of the game’s six classes is actually worth picking? This tier list ranks every class from best to worst based on the current post-launch balance patch, covering how each one performs in PvP duels and solo and squad-based extraction runs.
6. Seer

Seer is the game’s support-leaning option. Between its healing and area-controlling abilities, it’s built to keep a fight going long after other classes would have folded, and that staying power makes it especially valuable in three-player squads. Its main weaknesses are accuracy dependency and lower raw damage than every class ranked above it.
5. Withered Knight

Withered Knight is a tanky melee pick that has received its fair share of buffs heading into launch, but its complexity keeps it a notch below Mercenary for newcomers. Players willing to put in the time can use its defensive tools to anchor a squad. However, it also demands more precise positioning than most other classes, and dropping your guard for even a moment can leave it badly exposed in PvP.
4. Mercenary

Mercenary is the most beginner-friendly class in Mistfall Hunter. It’s a durable melee brawler with reliable self-sustain, which makes it forgiving for new players still learning enemy attack patterns. The best part? It also benefited from the pre-launch balance patch. It won’t top the damage charts against a boss or a skilled Shadowstrix, but its consistency across nearly every type of encounter is hard to match.
3. Blackarrow

Blackarrow rounds out the top tier as the most well-rounded ranged option. Charged shots and bleed effects give it serious sustained damage against bosses, while its range lets it control fights from a distance in PvP. It’s a safer pick than Shadowstrix for players who want top-tier damage without the same execution risk, though it isn’t quite as forgiving as it was in beta now that its escape options cost more to use.
2. Shadowstrix

Shadowstrix is the closest thing Mistfall Hunter has to a pure assassin, and it’s widely considered the best solo PvP class in the game. Its abilities revolve around stealth openers and escape tools like a smoke bomb, letting skilled players pick exactly when a fight starts and end it before the opponent can react.
The tradeoff is a steep learning curve and weak performance against heavily armored PvE bosses, so it rewards mechanical skill more than any other class and punishes mistakes just as heavily.
1. Sorcerer

Sorcerer currently sits at the top of the tier list. It combines heavy ranged damage with strong area-denial spells and enough mobility tools to disengage from a losing fight, making it equally dangerous in PvE clears and PvP skirmishes. The class received a damage boost in the launch balance patch, and that adjustment is a big reason it’s outperforming its rivals right now.
Its main downside is a lack of defensive options once an enemy closes the distance, so positioning matters more there than on almost any other class.
The most important part worth noting is that no class in Mistfall Hunter is a bad choice outright. Every ability has a niche, and plenty of players are already finding success with lower-ranked picks by leaning into their strengths. Since the game is still in its first weeks post-launch, expect this ranking to move as players uncover new counters and the developers issue further balance updates.
