To play the protagonist in the Highlander reboot, Cavill had to undergo difficult sword training. While speaking about it at a Q&A in April 2024, Cavill stated, “I am a lover of the original movies, for better or worse. It’s one of those things where reading the script, I wasn’t quite sure where they were going to go.” He added that the film will be staying true to the nature of the original characters and their stories, without changing anything. Cavill added, “If you think you’ve seen me do sword work before, you haven’t seen anything yet.” (via THR)
Although there is no update on the release date window of the Highlander reboot, it is expected to arrive in 2027.
