The DC Next Level initiative is introducing many changes to the reality of DC Comics. One of the bigger teases involves the New Titans – a team spinning out of the current Titans series. The identities of four new recruits have been revealed. However, a newly released preview image suggests that two trans superheroes will also be joining the team of young heroes.
The mystery began in December 2025 with a partly obscured cover for New Titans #33. This book continues the numbering from the previous Titans series, which ended with issue #32 in February 2026. The original cover had four characters hidden in silhouette, save for emblems and accessories.

These four New Titans were ultimately confirmed as Superman (Jon Kent), Wonder Girl (Yara Flor), Batgirl (Stephanie Brown, aka The Spoiler) and Terra. This makes sense, as the first three are popular young heroes with devout fan followings. Terra, contrastingly, is a Teen Titans villain who has recently started seeking redemption. However, another image has teased two more DC superheroes joining the New Titans as well. Coincidentally, these two heroes would also be the first trans superheroes to join any incarnation of the Titans.
Who are the two New Titans?

The image in question was a promo for the DC Next Level initiative at the end of DC K.O. #5. The collage shows several superheroes and also teases several upcoming storylines. However, the collage section in the lower left corner featuring the New Titans includes two superheroes not among the New Titans recruits. These heroes are Dreamer and Galaxy.

Originally created for the Supergirl television series, Dreamer was introduced into the main DC Universe in 2021’s Superman: Son of Kal-El #13. A half-human/half-Naltorian, Dreamer possesses the psychic powers common among Naltorians. These include precognitive visions, astral projection, psionic energy blasts, and divination. She also played a major role in the 2024 Absolute Power event. However, she has not been seen since the 2025 Secret Six series.

Galaxy was similarly created for DC’s line of graphic novels for young adult readers. However, she was brought into the main DC Universe as a supporting character in the 2024 Hawkgirl miniseries. Galaxy is Taelyr Ilextrix-spiir Biarxiiai; an alien princess in exile, forced to disguise herself as a human boy to evade the assassins seeking her family. Her powers include flight and manipulation of different energies, including heat, gravity, and electricity.
Both Galaxy and Dreamer have become fan favorites with young readers since their introductions. Introducing them into the New Titans series would be a smart way for DC to bring those readers into monthly comics. However, it should be noted there is nothing in the New Titans previews to date indicating when the two trans heroes will cross paths with the team.
New Titans #33 arrives in comic shops everywhere on March 18, 2026
