Classroom of the Elite Season 4 Episode 6 Review: The Calm Before the Storm

Episode 6 really slowed things down a bit for everything that’s to come next. The character dynamics have undergone a significant shift since Ayanokoji’s true potential began to surface in Classroom of the Elite. Like, could you even believe that Koenji asked Ayanokoji for a helping hand?

Well, today’s episode had a lot to talk about. While some incidents may seem insignificant, I feel like they will all come back in full circle by the time the Survival Island Test kicks in. Well, below, I’ve written down my thoughts on everything that took place in Season 4 Episode 6.

ANIME TITLEClassroom of the Elite 4th Season: Second Year, First SemesterSEASON 4 EPISODE 6 RELEASE DATEApril 15, 2026STUDIOLercheRATINGS (as of April 6, 2026)IMDb: 7.7/10MAL:Season 1: 7.83/10Season 2: 8.05/10Season 3: 7.93/10WHERE TO WATCHCrunchyroll, Muse Asia

Everyone Is Trying to Have Ayanokoji in Their Team Now

First of all, the major focus of the episode was clearly on how every student, even from other classes, is trying to recruit Ayanokoji for their team. As Chabashira-sensei explains, the teams for this upcoming special test can be formed across any classes. Naturally, many students now see Ayanokoji as their best pick to survive.

Even Horikita discusses this with Ayanokoji. She hopes he can gain as many points as possible to prevent others from getting expelled from their class. To help him secure first place, Ishizaki from Class 2-B makes the first offer. They even agree to give extra points to Ayanokoji if they win.

However, Ayanokoji still sees no merit in that. Understandably, he can simply wait and observe what others are doing. He might also want Ryuen on his team to consider Ishizaki’s request. Plus, they have to watch out for Class 2-A. If the other three classes team up, they could take Class 2-A down.

Then there is the situation with Ike. He is technically in Sudo’s place now in Year 2, and everyone is working hard, so he does not fail. Ayanokoji even asks Horikita for help to possibly mediate between Ike and Shinohara, but it is too late. Shinohara has already formed a team with Komiya from Class 2-B, which could be problematic.

Lastly, Ayanokoji has not forgotten about his “most useless tool”, Karuizawa. She might end up playing a big role in Season 4, which is probably why Ayanokoji is still considerate of her. He is even willing to spend money to prevent her from being expelled. Oh, what a man you are, Ayanokoji!

Sakayanagi & Ichinose Partnering Up Wasn’t Expected at All

While things were going mostly according to plan, Ichinose played something unexpected in the midst of it all. Well, it was all thanks to Sakayanagi for even inviting her for a discussion. Sakayanagi only wanted Ichinose to join Class 2-A so that Ichinose’s class would not fall to Class D. But Ichinose saw through Sakayanagi’s plans.

She only offered a helping hand because she feared the other three classes might rebel against Class 2-A, as Ichinose explains. That was true. Finally, Ichinose accepts her request, but she had her own terms and conditions. Sakayanagi must provide enough points so that at least five students from Ichinose’s class do not get expelled. But you know what? This might even be exactly what Ayanokoji wanted.

Classroom of the Elite Season 4 Episode 6: Final Verdict

Every conversation in today’s episode felt like it could prove important later on. The threat from acting Chairman Tsukishiro and the secret White Room student also lurks in the shadows. Considering all of this, Classroom of the Elite Season 4 Episode 6, titled “A Tumultuous Scramble,” really pushed the tension up a notch.

While I could nitpick, honestly, there isn’t much to complain about in this episode. Compared to the sheer hype moments we are used to in Classroom of the Elite, this episode had a rather slow pace, but that was necessary for the build-up. This pacing might continue in the next episode as well. Overall, it still deserves a high rating.

Classroom of the Elite Season 4 is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
