Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta Best Settings for Controller
Spread the love

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta is live across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2, giving console and controller players a real look at the game’s multiplayer and Warzone content ahead of the October 23 launch.

As with every new Call of Duty title, the default controller layout leaves a lot of performance on the table, waiting to be used up. Getting the most out of a controller means tuning three key areas: sensitivity and aim response, dead zones and trigger behavior, as well as how your Operator moves and reacts in combat.

How your aim ends up feeling in Modern Warfare 4 comes down to how the sticks, dead zones, and ADS multipliers work together. A Tactical button and stick layout keeps core inputs close together for faster reactions, while a moderate 1.5 sensitivity on both axes offers a workable middle ground.

Make sure to use the following settings when it comes to Aim and Input settings:

Button Layout: Tactical

Stick Layout Preset: Tactical

Horizontal/ Vertical Stick Sensitivity: 1.5/1.5

Simplified Controller Preset: Off

Low Motor Strain Preset: Off

Bumper Ping: Off

Controller Vibration: Off

Trigger Effect: Off

Left Stick Min: 2

Left Stick Max: 75

Right Stick Min: 3

Right Stick Max: 99

Left Trigger Deadzone: 1

Right Trigger Deadzone: 1

ADS Sensitivity Multiplier: 0.90

ADS Sens. Multiplier (Focus): 1.00

ADS Sensitivity Transition Timing: Instant

Aim Response Curve Type: Dynamic

3rd Person ADS Correction Type: Assist

3rd Person Sensitivity Multiplier: 1.00

Ground Vehicle Sensitivity Multiplier: 1.00

Air Vehicle Sensitivity Multiplier: 1.00

Tablet Sensitivity Multiplier: 1.00

Keeping the stick dead zones tight (low minimums, high maximums) helps reduce dead input at the edges of stick travel without introducing stick drift, while the Dynamic response curve smooths out target tracking as you push the stick further from the center.

Best Movement and Combat Behavior Settings

Movement and combat inputs matter as much as aim in MW4’s faster-paced gunfights. Tactical Sprint assist with no activation delay keeps momentum going into engagements, while Hybrid slide/dive behavior and Corner Slice give more flexibility when clearing angles.

Mantle Assist: Off

Corner Slice: On

Slide/ Dive Behavior: Hybrid

Slide Maintains Sprint: On

Automatic Airborne Mantle: Off

Parachute Automatic Behavior: Off

Sprint/ Tactical Sprint Behavior: Toggle

Weapon Mount Exit (View): Short Delay

Interact/ Reload Behavior: Prioritize Interact

It’s important to note that these settings are a strong starting point rather than a fixed rulebook. Furthermore, all of these are worth adjusting slightly to match personal playstyle as the MW4 Open Beta continues. What settings are you using currently?
