When you’re beginning in Road to Vostok, one of the best tips is to store your weapons inside your cabin, ideally on the table. This is important because if you die while exploring, you will end up losing everything you’re carrying at that moment. You can always do a zero-to-hero run, but keeping backup gear ensures that you’re prepared for your next attempt. Since weapons take up a lot of inventory space, placing them on the table helps you manage your storage efficiently.

One thing to note is that loot and enemies in town reset completely each time you enter or leave your cabin in the game. There are way more loot points in the game than you might expect, and with each run, you will continue discovering new places to find valuable items.

Changing your keybinds is highly recommended. While they’re ultimately personal preferences, the default setup isn’t ideal, and tweaking it can make the game feel much smoother. A good starting point is to move your left- and right-lean controls to your mouse, which makes room-clearing much more fluid and helps you gather information on enemy positions more effectively. You should also set your interact key to F so that looting and searching are easier. Also, make sure to bind your flashlight toggle to T for easier access during gameplay.
