Sophie Turner is next set to appear in Prime Video’s Tomb Raider series, and her first on-set look as the video game adventurer Lara Croft was recently released. In the same, she was seen in the character’s tactical outfit, which has always been one of Croft’s skins in the video game series.
Judging from the short clip, the Game of Thrones actress’s look perfectly fits the character’s, as well, complete with a teal top, gun holsters, black army boots, and her hair tied into a single French braid (via @infinityTRaider on X and YouTube Shorts).

In other snippets from behind the scenes, she was seen being hoisted into the sky and parachuting down onto a beach while shooting the opening sequences in Surrey, UK. In fact, she was even seen battling the British weather with rain pouring down over the set, so it seems like she’s really doing everything to pull off this gig as amazingly as possible!

Though she was initially widely scrutinized for taking on a role that apparently didn’t fit her well, these new behind-the-scenes snippets of Turner as Croft are certainly changing the fans’ minds. For one, a lot of fans feel this is a good start for this latest live-action Tomb Raider adaptation. On X, here’s what they have to say:
The so called fans of the franchise act like they have never actually played one of the games, right?? The tactical outfit has always been one of her skins 🤷 pic.twitter.com/NFwPSYkMFl— Xis ⊗ (@Xisman04) February 6, 2026
The people in the comments who call themselves the great specialists in Lara Croft talking like Lara had never used a look like this. TR 3, Chronicles, Legend and Rise BEG to differ. You people just want so complain.— Alex Grey (@LexGrey) February 6, 2026
We’ve really had no bad Tomb Raider adaptation so far, from Angelina Jolie down to Alicia Vikander; I’m excited to see how this one goes. 🔥 pic.twitter.com/uef7vbtzY9— 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝙚™ (@Chikaimaaa) February 6, 2026
She looks good. The only issue is with the hair looking too bright.— Teresa’s Chopper (@teresaschopper) February 6, 2026
She looks so good, love the body proportions, long legs, thin waist, wide shoulders… she looks great. And the braid? Cherry on top. If ppl still gonna complain about this they are just retarded.— Leon’s Bodyguard (@leonsbodyguard) February 6, 2026
On the other hand, some critics still aren’t holding back from trolling Turner and her new look. To say the least, this other group of netizens is too busy pointing out how she doesn’t look like Croft from their perspective at all. Here’s what these others have to say:
it looks like Call of Duty than Lara Croft😂— Angela L.E. Komorovska (@AngelaLEKa33f) February 6, 2026
She looks great. However, she doesn’t look at all like Lara Croft. I thought they would have at least darkened her hair. Maybe they should sell this character as being Lara’s cousin.— Skookum Games (@SkookumGames) February 6, 2026
Okay i was trying to be optimistic at first but she looks nowhere near Lara. This is gonna flop badly— ok (@CursedX2000) February 6, 2026
Well, for what it’s worth, Turner certainly does fit the role, especially with her iconic tank top, brown shorts, and dual pistols, which is widely considered a nod to the Core Design era games (1996–2003) rather than the 2013 survivor reboot. So it’s interesting to see this series get off to a good start. How well it will perform, though, remains to be seen.
