A new update on the Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer is good news for MCU fans.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in post-production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the movie is scheduled to arrive in December 2026. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, then follows in 2027.
Yesterday, Collider reported that the first Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer will be attached to James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, which hits theaters on December 19, 2025. It is not yet clear if it will be immediately shared online or if it will only be available to watch on the big screen for some time.
What is the Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer update?
Scooper MyTimeToShineHello has said that they’ve seen the Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer, and that it’s “it’s pretty good and has a lot of Doom in it.”
This is technically a rumor that should be taken with a grain of salt; however, it feels like a safe bet to assume there will be plenty of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in the teaser trailer. No details regarding how long it is or what other MCU characters show up in the trailer have yet emerged.
Having said that, Film Threat’s Chris Gore said they’ve heard some details about the teaser trailer and shared, “You’re going to get not just a glimpse of Doom; you’re going to see Doom. The way the character was described, in terms of Downey’s interpretation of the character, is a classic Universal monster. Like The Phantom of the Opera — the Lon Chaney Phantom of the Opera. It’s a tragic figure, and a broken figure. And part of it is, his armor, Doom’s armor — Iron Man had the armor, and that was his superpower. Doom must have the armor because he is a broken body. Scarred. Not my words, someone else’s words, but he went full Universal Monster with the interpretation…He needs the suit to actually function…Then, of course, add the element that Doom has not just his technical and skill with science, but also combined with magic.”
Marvel’s Avengers Doomsday will be released on December 18, 2026.
