Margot Robbie is one of the big names in the film industry. With her incredible performance and her appearance in some of the most iconic films, Robbie has established her name in Hollywood. Her journey throughout has been very interesting, but what’s more interesting is the story behind her entry into Hollywood.
Previously, during her appearance on a talk show, the actress revealed that an eating competition opened the door to Hollywood for her.

Margot Robbie believes that a bizarre competition landed her her first breakthrough role
For those who don’t know, Margot Robbie‘s acting debut wasn’t in the 2008 Australian film Vigilante, as prior to this, the actress featured in the renowned Australian soap opera Neighbours. However, Robbie’s ambitions were greater than starring in a soap opera, and to reach those ambitions, she had to take a great leap.
She needed to secure representation in the U.S. so that she could look for bigger projects in the film industry. Fortunately, with the help of an agent, she managed to fix her meeting with a repudiated management organization.
During her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actress recalled how she aced the meeting by talking about an eating competition. The actress recalled that during her meeting she wanted to tell the manager everything she had in her resume, which even included an eating competition she won while used to work in a soap opera.
The moment she was about to begin her story, her agent got alert suddenly and told the actress not to share the bizarre tale. However, that couldn’t stop Robbie from sharing her victorious story. The actress revealed that while filming Neighbors, she got into an argument with one of her co-stars.

Their argument led to a bizarre competition where the two competed to see who could eat more. They decided to settle the score with a spaghetti bolognese eating competition, and whoever ate more would be declared the winner.
With the enthusiasm with which Robbie narrated the story, it is obvious that she was the winner of the competition. Though she won the competition, she couldn’t digest the spaghetti, and she ended up puking whatever she ate. The actress admitted,
“[I] just spewed up four pounds of spaghetti bolognese. Yeah, like projectile. Like, have you ever seen that movie where she is possessed? It was like that.’ And then he signed me, and here we are.”
The actress said that it was the most mentally and physically exhausting task she had ever done.

The confidence and honesty with which Margot Robbie shared her eating competition tale were indeed appreciable. But the bigger question is: did her intention behind sharing her story go well?
The actress wanted to get a breakout role in the industry, and perhaps her story impressed the manager as she managed to book a role in The Wolf of Wall Street. Her role as Naomi Lapaglia in the film helped her become a household name in America.
Recently, Robbie’s starring film Barbie is having a blast at the box office.
