The rumored deaths in Marvel Studios‘ Avengers: Doomsday have just been slashed, with a trusted scooper debunking the previously claimed fates of two major characters while confirming another.
Marvel fans have come to expect character deaths in the Avengers movies. Phil Coulson died in the first movie, 2012’s Marvel’s The Avengers, while Quicksilver couldn’t outrun some bullets in 2015’s Age of Ultron. 2018’s Infinity War upped the death toll by wiping away half of humanity, while Iron Man made the heroic sacrifice in 2019’s Endgame.
Rumors have been flying lately about who might die in Doomsday, which will see the Avengers, X-Men, and the Fantastic Four team up to stop Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. Earlier this week, MyTimeToShineHello claimed that both Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine would perish at the start of Doomsday. However, nothing could be further from the truth, according to scooper James Mack in a new post on X.
Addressing MyTimeToShineHello’s scoop, Mack wrote that “some rumors out there are just meant to divert real information and stir up discussion about the movie,” before stating that Spider-Man and Wolverine “do not die in Avengers Doomsday!”

Who will actually die in Avengers: Doomsday?
Unfortunately, in a different post, Mack revealed the beloved Marvel character who will reportedly meet his end. “The whole Loki situation, you guys should already know it’s OBVIOUS!If Avengers Secret Wars exists, it’s because Doom managed to reach the one who’s protecting the timelines,” the scooper explained.

Loki, who became the new overseer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Multiverse at the end of his Disney+ series, will reportedly be killed alongside the rest of the Time Variance Authority by Doctor Doom.
If true, it would be the latest in a long line of deaths for the Marvel character, who previously faked his death in Thor: The Dark World before being killed off for good in the opening moments of Avengers: Infinity War. The Loki that is set to appear in Doomsday is a 2012 variant that escaped S.H.I.E.L.D. custody when the Avengers went back in time in Endgame to retrieve the Tesseract.
All Avengers: Doomsday deaths will be revealed when the superhero crossover movie arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026. Until then, fans should take all rumors with a grain of salt.
