In the concluding moments of Episode 2 of the latest season of Wistoria: Wand and Sword, Rosti seemingly met his demise. Right before that, Rosti utilized water magic when helping Will Serfort. While this isn’t the confirmation by itself, water and ice magic are quite similar.

Let’s examine the specific clues embedded within the anime that validate the theory that Rosti is Elfaria’s clone, focusing on Rosti’s convenient appearances, his correlation with Elfaria’s sleep, and clues hidden in the anime credits themselves.

Rosti’s Mysterious Involvement in Praxis Exams

The primary clue supporting the clone theory comes from Rosti’s unexplained presence and actions during the dungeon Praxis Exams. During a critical encounter, Will was engaged in combat with a monster that was giving him and his companions a hard time. Right when he was about to lose his will to fight, he observed ice right in front of him, which shouldn’t have been there. Ice is Elfaria’s signature magic. The sudden appearance of this made Will remember something Elfaria once told him: “It’s wand and sword.”

Through that, he was able to get the willpower needed to defeat the monster and a mysterious form of strength as well. During that scene, Rosti was shown observing Will’s victory from a distance. Reality is, Rosti had no way of being near Will at that time. Even the teachers were having difficulty going to that place.

Elfaria Is Often Sleeping Whenever Rosti Is Shown

There are many moments in the anime when Elfaria is simply sleeping. She has been criticized for sleeping a lot by her assistant as well. While it first seemed like she was simply thinking about Will whenever she had her eyes closed, a strange pattern started to emerge when the first season neared its end.

Elfaria’s appearance on screen usually followed the appearance of Rosti. Furthermore, even in the latest episode of the anime, when Rosti was fighting alongside Will to save the people being attacked by the monsters, we saw that Elfaria still had her eyes closed, even when she was in a meeting with other Magia Vanders.

Rosti’s Japanese VA Is Unknown In Wistoria: Wand and Sword

The final piece of evidence is found outside the story, residing in the production details of the anime adaptation. Currently, the Japanese voice actor for Rosti remains officially unlisted in all official Wistoria: Wand and Sword credits and promotional materials. In the anime industry, withholding a voice actor’s name is a standard tactic used exclusively to conceal a character’s true identity or a major plot twist.

Professional voice actors are trained in extensive vocal modulation, and it is quite common for male characters to have female casting. It is highly probable that Akira Sekine, the voice actress for Elfaria, is also providing the voice for Rosti. By altering her pitch, tone, and speaking cadence, Sekine could perform the male role of Rosti while maintaining the character’s vocal connection to Elfaria. Furthermore, Rosti appears to be madly in love with Will.

Due to these 3 primary reasons, many fans believe that Elfaria and Rosti are the same person. In fact, it would make a lot of sense as well. Elfaria loves Will as much as he loves her, and she wants to meet him as well. Furthermore, her cloning magic is said to be the best in the world, as she is the one who invented it.

What specific magic did Rosti utilize prior to his apparent death?

Rosti utilized water magic. Analytically, water serves as the fundamental base for ice magic, hence, it is another clue (albeit weak) that Rosti is Elfie’s clone.

When will the next episode of Wistoria: Wand and Sword be available?

The next episode will be available on April 26. You can stream it on Crunchyroll.

Is there any other character who used Ice Magic?

Julius Reinberg is another student who has learned Elfaria’s magic.

Do you also believe that Rosti and Elfaria are same person? Let us know other clues you’ve spotted in the comments.

Wistoria: Wand and Sword is streaming on Crunchyroll.
