Pluribus has become one of the most beloved series to be released this year. And why wouldn’t it be? After all, it has come from one of the best creators, Vince Gilligan. However, right when everyone watching the series was getting used to the mind-blowing science fiction theories and surprises, the creator came forth, which has become the talk of the town, literally.
In Season 1, Episode 4 of the highly acclaimed science fiction series, Please, Carol, a few people were seen cleaning the yard of Carol, the lead character played by Rhea Seehorn. What intrigued not just the lead character but also everyone watching the series was a cameo during this scene.
In this sequence, Carol was seen having a conversation with a man, asking him, “Do I know you?” and then replying, “You’re the f***ing mayor.”
Replying to Carol, the male character tells her, “Thank you for your vote.”
For those unversed, the character in question is actually the Mayor of Albuquerque, Tim Keller. What makes his cameo even more intriguing is that Vince Gilligan subtly revealed the filming location of his now highly trending series, Pluribus.
While the surprising cameo occurred on the November 21, 2025, episode, the series went on to receive even more shocking drops from various big names.
Other Mindblowing Cameos Vince Gilligan’s Sci-Fi Dream Had
After the actual mayor of Albuquerque, Tim Keller, made a name for himself by appearing in Pluribus, exactly one episode later, in HDP, fans were shocked to see a famous personality who is not usually seen, John Cena.
His character explains to Carol the reason behind the hive mind’s consumption of human-derived protein. Cena’s character tells Carol that they don’t like doing so to the humans, but if they don’t act towards it, the hive mind will starve to death. As per Cena’s character, the hive mind can’t even pick apples from a tree and eat them as food. This is because they believe that eating apples would harm the tree.
If you’re not aware, the protein question here is actually derived from humans. Just like we saw humans being the source of power in the legendary classic movie The Matrix, in Pluribus, human bodies are smashed up into a slurry, after which that same paste is put into milk cartons.
Besides him, while we praise Vince Gilligan for his creative mind behind the series, many might have missed his own cameo in the show. In that same episode, HDP, Carol is seen going inside a warehouse-sized freezer. This is also where she discovered various body parts wrapped in plastic, ready to be turned into slurry. While we go through many bodies, the camera swiftly passes through a decapitated head with its mouth open.
Interestingly, that head is of none other than Gilligan himself.
