Marathon has a total of six factions, and completing missions for them as a Runner can help you earn some great rewards. However, what these factions also offer are upgrades for your Runner shell, which can give you some valuable stat boosts.

1. Expansion
Adds extra rows to your vault storage for the remainder of the current season. This upgrade can be leveled up to rank 5, and is crucial for managing inventory space.
2. Credit Limit
Increases your wallet capacity for the rest of the season, which will allow you to carry more in-game currency.
3. Informant.Exe
Boosts your data credit rewards by 50%. This bonus also stacks with other Informant upgrades in the game.
4. Firm_ Stance.Exe
Reduces fall damage and gives you greater resistance when landing from heights. It can be upgraded to Level 3 for greater effect.
5. Heat_ Sink.exe
Raises your heat capacity, which lets you perform more movement actions, like sprinting and sliding, before overheating. This is one of the first upgrades you should level up.
6. Active_Cool.exe
Speeds up heat recovery, letting you get back into action much faster.
7. Scavenger.Exe
Improves looting speed by revealing items in containers quickly while scavening.

Unlocks the Enhanced Bully SMG for purchase in the Armory.

Agility increases your movement speed and jump height in the game. This is crucial for upgrading your movement speed in the game.
2. Graceful
Gives you access to purchase Graceful Landing V4 Implant in the Armory. This also gives you more agility, melee damage, and resistance.
3. Survivor
Allows you to purchase the Survivor Kit V2 Implant in the Armory. This gives you survival kits, which increase self-repair speed, revive speed, hardware, firewall, and ping duration for your shell.

Boosts the damage of your melee and knife attacks. Since knife attacks are especially effective against the UESC, this upgrade can prove to be game-changing.

Unlocks the WSTR Combat Shotgun for purchase in Marathon Armory. It’s a powerful, hard-hitting weapon that’s perfect for close-range fights.

Finisher Siphon will increase the amount your shields recharge after you perform a finisher on a downed runner. This one is crucial to help you stay protected during fights.
4. Reboot.exe
Boosts revive speed and allow you to self-revive or revive downed teammates quickly. It works perfectly when paired with Nuvals’ Self-Revive upgrade.
5. Leech.exe
Causes your knife attacks to restore a small amount of health whenever they deal damage. However, you need to be ranked 28 for this to work.
6. Heat_Death.exe
Eliminating any enemy in the game will reduce your heat buildup. This makes sure you are not taken out of the match.

1. Tac_Amp.exe
Tactical Recovery reduces the cooldown of your tactical and trait abilities in Marathon. This one will let you jump back into the game more quickly.
2. Prime_Amp.exe
Prime Recover will reduce the cooldown of your prime ability. This will allow you to use your prime abilities more often in the game
3. Heart_Start.exe
Partially fills your tactical ability charge at the start of a run in the game.
4. Primed.exe
This one completely fills your prime ability charge at the start of every run in the game. This one will let you wreak chaos right from the start of the match and be aggressive.
