We’ve all been begging to see vehicles from the original game to make a return in Helldivers 2, and Arrowhead Game Studios has finally heard us! With Patch 6.0.0, the TD-220 Bastion MK XVI is now on the battlefield. Now, to master this thing to dominate the war for Cyberstan, you need to know how to handle it, master its cannons, and whatnot. So, to help you out, here are the top five tips to master the Bastion Tank.

One of the major drawbacks of the Bastion Tank in Helldivers 2 is the fact that it handles like a truck. You can’t expect it to turn instantly, which makes maneuvering this thing a bit of a nightmare. However, the way to deal with it is to bring the tank to a complete stop.
Once you have done that, push left or right to turn the tank immediately, then change direction. Sure, this can make you vulnerable to enemy fire, but that’s where your Gunner and Secondary Gunner can use their tools to save the tank.
2. Avoid Parking Bastion On Slopes

The Bastion Tank’s limited movement also applies to its deadly 120mm HV cannon. This thing can wreck anything that’s in its path. However, the cannon can’t move that much. You won’t be able to rotate it far left or right, nor adjust it vertically.
Due to this, the driver needs to position the tank carefully so the gunner always has a clear firing angle. However, don’t park the Bastion on a slope or any awkward spot where it would be impossible for the cannon to move to aim for targets.
3. Turrets and Cannons Have Different Roles

If you didn’t know already, the Bastion Tank has two ways to delete enemies off the map: the 120 mm HV Cannon and a coaxial machine gun. Both are extremely powerful but play very different roles.
The Cannon can one-shot most enemies in Helldivers 2 when you hit their weak points, except Leviathans and Hive Lords. Its explosive damage and wide radius make it perfect for clearing enemy hordes. The coaxial machine gun is similar to the Heavy Machine Gun, and has a 2,000-round capacity. The bots won’t have a chance to survive.
4. Bastion Tank is Immune to Fire

Are your enemies trying to set you on fire? Well, don’t even think twice before running them down with the Bastion Tank in Helldivers 2 because this monster is completely immune to fire.
This means that nothing can light you up as long as you’re inside the tank. Just be careful, though, as fire on the ground can damage and destroy the Bastion. So, always be on the lookout for where you park the tank.
5. Bring Supporting Gear for Bastion

Your fellow Helldivers onboard the Bastion can also support it by using a variety of Stratagems and weapons, which can be fired from the rear.
A Grenade Launcher can be great for clearing out chaff enemies, and the Recoilless Rifle can take care of heavy targets outside the tank’s firing angles. The Shield Generator can come in clutch if you need to hold the ground and keep the Bastion alive.
