Thunderbolts* had an ensemble cast featuring Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, and Lewis Pullman as Bob Reynolds.
While most of the members are expected to return in the upcoming Avengers movies, Doomsday and Secret Wars, many fans are still wondering whether the team will reunite in a Thunderbolts* sequel. During a recent Q&A session, industry insider Alex Perez claimed that Thunderbolts* 2 may happen, but without the original team from the first part.

When asked if the first film’s story will continue with a new installment, Perez said, “You could say that. Although I’m not sure it will be the same team.” Notably, Marvel has yet to officially announce a Thunderbolts* sequel, hence everything should be taken with a grain of salt for now.
Speaking of the possibility of a sequel, it seems likely, especially considering Thunderbolts*’ overall reception. At the box office, it managed to earn over $380 million against a budget of $180 million. Plus, it also fared well among critics and fans, with a solid Tomatometer score of 88% and an impressive Popcornmeter score of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.
In more Thunderbolts* news, there’s another rumor floating online regarding Bob Reynolds/Sentry. This one also comes from Perez, who believes that Sentry’s character may go into an indefinite retirement after Avengers: Secret Wars. He said, “Bob, I think might disappear for a while after Avengers: Secret Wars. Like, no cap, guy really might wanna just retire from it all after the hell they put him through. And that’s just in Doomsday alone.”
But nothing is confirmed officially regarding the superhero’s role or overall arc in the crossover movie. All speculations should be taken with a grain of salt at the moment.
