New details about Thor and Steve Rogers’ side mission in Avengers: Doomsday have just been shared, and it hints at a heartbreaking reunion between the God of Thunder and Loki.
It’s been known for a while now that one of Doomsday’s storylines will follow Thor and Steve looking for Loki, with both “already on the Fantastic Four’s ship with Doom before it arrives in the MCU,” as glimpsed in the post-credits scene for Thunderbolts*. However, scooper MAJESTIC_ucm has now shed new light on Thor and Steve’s reunion with the former God of Mischief.
What will be Thor’s most emotional scene in Avengers: Doomsday?
According to MAJESTIC_ucm on X, “Thor and Steve Rogers arrive too late to the TVA tragedy. A dying person (Mobius or B15) is mentioned, explaining who was responsible. The Loki from the series (variant) is dead, and all the characters from the series die, along with the TVA.”
The scooper attached a couple of behind-the-scenes images of Chris Hemsworth on the TVA set of Doomsday, which can be viewed below.

It’s worth noting that, since this is a rumor, fans should take this information with a grain of salt until it’s either confirmed or debunked by Marvel Studios. However, if true, it means that Thor will never meet the Endgame variant of Loki, who ended up as the overseer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Multiverse.
Loki’s death was previously revealed by scooper MyTimeToShineHello last month. James Mack, another trusted scooper, had explained last week that Loki’s death was obviously going to happen in Doomsday, as Doctor Doom needed him out of the way to take control of the Multiverse.
Still, many fans likely expected Thor and Steve to reach the TVA ahead of Doom, allowing for Thor and Loki to have a long-awaited and emotional reunion. However, MAJESTIC_ucm makes it clear that Doom will arrive and wipe out the TVA and Loki before Thor and Steve, leaving them to bear witness to the aftermath of that fight.
Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026.
