[Image Credit: Gabe Ginsberg | Getty Images] While Marvel has revealed many cast members for Avengers: Doomsday, the full list has not yet been released. This has led to plenty of speculation and theories on which actors and actresses from the MCU will return in the highly anticipated Russo Brothers film. Marvel has largely decided on a slow-burn approach when it comes to the full cast reveal, confirming Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, and many more through various teasers, trailers, and announcements. That was until late March when it dropped a much longer video that filled in a lot of the holes. However, there are many actors and characters that have not been confirmed as part of the cast, though they are still predicted to make an appearance in Avengers: Doomsday when it releases on December 18, 2025 in the US.

The full Avengers: Doomsday cast is still mired in rumors

The following actors are predicted to return as cast members in Avengers: Doomsday, as based on a popular prediction market on Kalshi (as of April 28). A part of this bet is a prediction on whether the characters that these actors have played in past MCU movies and shows will appear in the film in the first place.

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool – 82%

Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange – 80%

Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man – 77%

Among the choices on the list, the easiest confirmation is Kathryn Newton’s role as Cassie Lang, since the actress revealed her return in an Instagram post. Given the success of Deadpool & Wolverine, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are expected to reprise their characters. James Marsden said he missed Jackman on the set for the movie, though it could mean that Wolverine and Cyclops were not in the same scenes together. Meanwhile, Deadpool is reportedly in the movie, though we apparently shouldn’t expect him to be a member of the Avengers team exactly.

As for Cumberbatch, it’s rumored that he is could be playing Doctor Doom’s wizard sidekick in addition to his role as Doctor Strange. Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man has been a part of several rumors already, so it seems like his participation in the movie is more assured. A rumor in April says that Teyonah Parris’s Monica Rambeau will be a broker of peace between superhero teams. However, we are surprised that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk is so high on the list given that the actor has reportedly confirmed his absence.

While the bet on Don Cheadle’s War Machine is split down the middle, a report in early April suggests that he won’t be in the movie. An industry insider says that Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel is not there either, though reshoots could bring her into the fold. The actress has thus far declined to confirm her participation in the film.

Halle Berry was asked during an interview with Chris Hemsworth if her version of Storm would return to the MCU, and while she would love to see it, she had to say no. Given that Marvel dropped Majors in December 2023 after his conviction for misdemeanor assault, it’s fairly safe to say that he will likely not return as Kang despite his interest to return.
