Marvel Cinematic Universe fans’ rewatch homework ahead of Spider-Man: Brand New Day will now include the upcoming Special Presentation The Punisher: One Last Kill, starring Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle/The Punisher.
Announced in February 2025, The Punisher: One Last Kill will be third Special Presentatation in the MCU, following Werewolf by Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Reinaldo Marcus Green directed the special from a screenplay he co-wrote with Bernthal.

While plot details remain under wraps, The Punisher: One Last Kill will pick up after the Season 1 finale of Daredevil: Born Again. Scooper MAJESTIC_ucm recently shared on X that the special will also tee up Frank Castle’s role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, reporting that it will reveal “why Frank has a rivalry with Tombstone and why he has to protect Sadie Sink‘s character. There are references, so pay attention.”

At the time of writing, Bernthal is the only actor confirmed to appear in both The Punisher: One Last Kill and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, MAJESTIC_ucm has hinted that the special’s “post-credits scene is related to Jean Grey and Damage Control,” although it’s unclear if Sadie Sink will actually make a cameo as the X-Men mutant, who she has been heavily rumored to be playing in the Spider-Man sequel.
Actors who are actually slated to appear in One Last Kill are Jason R. Moore, reprising his role as Castle’s close friend Curtis Hoyle from Netflix’s The Punisher, Roe Rancell, and Mila Jaymes. Notable Punisher villain Ma Gnucci is also expected to appear in the Disney+ special. No casting has been officially revealed for the female crime boss yet, although fans have reason to suspect veteran actress Judith Light will be stepping into the role after believing to have spotted her on the set of the special back in August 2025.
The Punisher: One Last Kill premieres on Disney+ on May 12. Bernthal will then appear as Frank Castle/The Punisher in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which arrives in theaters on July 31, 2026. Both projects are part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
