Spoiler Alert !!!Spoilers for The Morning Show Season 4 finale ahead!
The Morning Show Season 4 ended with one of the most intense finales in the series’ history. Featuring a geopolitical rescue, a shocking twist involving Corey’s mother, and a public implosion that reshapes the power structure at UBN, showrunner Charlotte Stoudt broke down the finale’s biggest moments in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
According to Stoudt, Bradley’s storyline was inspired by real-world cases of hostage diplomacy, including the detentions of Evan Gershkovich and Brittney Griner. This was done to show the kind of conditions and danger journalists and public figures face abroad.
Meanwhile, the twist surrounding Corey’s mother, who chose assisted su*cide, connects deeply to themes of autonomy, guilt, and the moral contradictions that define Corey Ellison. This revelation ultimately motivates Corey to help Alex expose Celine Dumont, leading to the explosive live-broadcast downfall that ends season 4.
Is The Morning Show Season 5 Confirmed?
Season 5 of The Morning Show was already greenlit back in January of this year, before the premiere of the fourth season on Apple. In a statement, Matt Cherniss, head of programming of Apple TV+, stated:
‘The Morning Show’ has been a standout from the very start, debuting as one of the flagship series on Apple TV+. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see it not only entertain but also resonate with audiences worldwide… We’re excited for viewers to experience the next chapter of this Emmy Award-winning drama.
The series will bring several of the series’ original stars for sure, including lead stars and executive producers, Jennifer Aniston as Alex Levy and Reese Witherspoon as Bradley Jackson.
As for when the fifth season will be released, a release date has not been confirmed. But given that each subsequent season has usually taken two years to release, we can expect Season 5 to land in 2027, most likely.
What Will The Morning Show Season 5 Be About?

Showrunner Charlotte Stoudt has hinted that Season 5 of The Morning Show will lean into the fallout from the explosive Season 4 finale, exploring the emotional and ethical consequences for key characters now that Bradley is free and revelations about Celine and Corey’s mother have upended everything (via Deadline).
One major thread will likely focus on Ellison’s grief and guilt. Stoudt has said that his mother’s assisted su*cide and his role in helping Bradley forced him to reckon with both his values and his ambition. This arc will surely carry over into Season 5 as Corey tries to navigate through his feelings.
Meanwhile, Alex Levy may continue her battle for influence and redemption. Her conflict with Celine Dumont, paired with her fraught relationship with her father, sets the stage for a power struggle back at the network.
Furthermore, the show is set against the backdrop of real-life political and American media climate. This will likely cause the show to catch up with the Trump 2.0 era, potentially featuring more media censure and challenges to press freedom.
Well, Stoudt seems poised to keep weaving long-form political and social commentary into character drama.
