Following rumors that Sebastian Stan has been cast as Harvey Dent in The Batman 2, fans have eagerly speculated whether the actor will fully transform into the villainous Two-Face in the upcoming sequel, or if this movie will simply lay the groundwork for his arc in future films.
A recent report from Deadline points toward the former. The outlet suggests Stan will indeed embrace the iconic rogue’s dual identity in the Matt Reeves-directed sequel. When asked about his involvement, the actor gushed about the extensive make-up process and his experience on set, sharing:
I’m excited, I’m nervous and trying to keep surprising myself.
However, it is worth noting that the actor stopped short of explicitly confirming he is playing Two-Face. Both the Marvel veteran and Reeves have kept the exact details of the character tightly under wraps. The only thing he shared is that he will play “many roles in this one”.

Although on the surface, it appears the actor might be alluding to playing several characters in the follow-up, given the nature of Two-Face, it’s possible that the actor might be referring to the characters’ different personalities.
Assuming he will indeed be playing Harvey Dent in the movie, it’ll be interesting to see when he’ll transform, whether at the end, towards the beginning, or midway through the story, like Aaron Eckhart in The Dark Knight.
Hopefully, Stan’s DC role will continue to weave into other projects within Reeves’ The Batman Epic Crime Saga instead of being a one-and-done deal.

After years of delays, production on the highly anticipated follow-up to one of the best Batman movies has finally commenced in London, and several set images have already been making the rounds online. One image in particular featured a Batman logo on set against a blue backdrop, which feels especially fitting given the reported winter setting for the movie.

With Stan also stressing that he’ll be shooting throughout the summer, it’s safe to say he’ll end up playing an integral role in the film.
And given the years-long wait between the two movies, here’s hoping no more delays befall the project and that the movie finally makes its way to its intended release in October next year.
