For his film Sand Castle, the actor starred as Sergeant Dylan Chutsky in the Iraq war-based film. Powell starred along with noted actors such as Nicholas Hoult, Henry Cavill, and Logan Marshall-Greene in the film. The actor reportedly had to gain twenty pounds for the role in only three weeks.
At such a desperate time, the young actor reportedly turned to the legendary Sylvester Stallone for body-building advice. Powell credits a bucket full of protein powder and an unusual piece of advice from Stallone as his hack to looking well-built on camera. In an interview with Men’s Journal, he said,
“Just get your forearms and traps to bulge and you’ll look massive on camera.”
Powell took the advice and was able to share screen space with the likes of Henry Cavill. Audiences can also see his amazing physique in last year’s blockbuster hit Top Gun: Maverick.
