Netflix has revealed the runtime of the Stranger Things Season 5 finale and the theaters where it will screen.

How long is the Stranger Things Season 5 finale runtime?

The runtime for the Stranger Things Season 5 finale is 2 hours and 5 minutes. The episode is titled “The Rightside Up” and will air on Netflix starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on December 31, 2025.

The blockbuster-sized episode becomes the second Stranger Things episode to eclipse two hours. The longest episode in series history is the Season 4 finale, which runs 2 hours and 19 minutes.

The finale will also be screened in more than 500 theaters across the United States and Canada. Showings will begin on December 31 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, coinciding with the Netflix release. Stranger Things Season 5 kicked off with four episodes on November 26. Season 5 picks up in November 1987, approximately 1.5 years after the Season 4 finale. Hawkins is now under military quarantine after the Upside Down infiltrated parts of the town. Eleven is in hiding, and Vecna is nowhere to be found. As the anniversary of Will’s appearance rapidly approaches, strange occurrences begin to happen, with Demogorgons returning to Hawkins. It’s all part of Vecna’s plan for complete domination. To save their world, the gang will have to make one final stand.
