The For All Mankind spinoff has received ratings just as high as its parent show, with a staggeringly high 97% Rotten Tomatoes score for its debut season. The show boasts powerful performances from its diverse cast and even manages to blend prestige drama with thriller elements. So what is the chance of a Season 2?
What Is the Likelihood of Star City Season 2?
The likelihood of Season 2 of Star City is high. The ending to the first season does not cap the story, leaving us with a semi-cliffhanger of anticipation following our heroes’ arrests. A look at the FlixPatrol page of the show highlights how well the show is doing, breaking into the Top 10 Apple TV shows in many countries, including Australia, the United States, and the UK.
The Rotten Tomatoes Critics Consensus states:

These are all brownie points in favour of Star City, which has managed to retain good quality across the eight episodes of its debut season. Despite its slow-burn nature that can throw people off, there are enough thrills on Earth and in space to keep even the most bored viewer engaged.
There is so much more to tell, and given that the show is set in the same universe as For All Mankind, there might be something very interesting in store for us. Star City’s current USSR timeline puts it only three years from a crossover with For All Mankind’s NASA from the latter show’s first season.
What Are the Producers Saying About Star City Season 2?

The producers of Star City have deliberately crafted the show for a new audience who are unfamiliar with For All Mankind, according to Syfy magazine. Co-creator Nedivi shared the following:
In fact, I think one of our wishes is that someone out there will watch Star City and be inspired to then start For All Mankind to see the other way around.
The producers and creators are also leaning more into the static timeline of Star City, compared to For All Mankind’s time jumps, as highlighted in another Syfy piece. Given the fact that the two shows share more than just their pivotal characters, we’re likely to see the Soviets’ side of the time when they had a feud with NASA.
This would prove to be interesting material for the show and For All Mankind’s fanbase, bolstering it to new heights in the already ever-growing list of wonderful Apple TV shows.
