While many fans expect the upcoming Spider-Man 4 plot to be grounded compared to past movies, a new insider’s report suggests that might not be the case.
What’s the latest report on the Spider-Man 4 plot?
In a new post by noted insider My Time to Shine, the insider noted that the movie is “not totally grounded” and is also “pretty crazy.” Of course, nothing specific was mentioned, and fans have already theorized what this could possibly mean.
Although extremely popular and successful, the first three Spider-Man movies in the MCU have been criticized at times for not being more about Spider-Man’s “ground level” heroism. Instead, the film’s have often seen Peter Parker deal with problems at a world (or sometimes even multiversal) level.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The movie will once again be led by Tom Holland as he reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Emmy winner Zendaya and Jacob Batalo are also expected to return for the sequel.

They will be joined by cast members Sadie Sink (Stranger Things), Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear), Jon Bernthal, and Trammell Tillman, among others. The latter recently played the anti-hero again in Daredevil: Born Again Season 1. The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, and Avi Arad.
Spider-Man 4 will be released in United States theaters on July 31, 2026 ahead of Avengers: Doomsday (December 18, 2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (December 17, 2027), following Doomsday’s delay.
