The anime and manga fandom world is filled with discourses about which character is the strongest. Often, random characters are matched up against each other, and fans argue about who would win. The latest debate takes two extremely powerful characters from Black Clover and Fairy Tail to see who would win.
The characters in question are Mereoleona Vermillion from Black Clover and Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tail. Both of these are insanely powerful characters in their respective series who have the same attribute of fire. So naturally, fans are busy debating who will wipe the floor with the other.

Both Natsu and Mereoleon have fiery personalities (pun intended). Natsu is extremely carefree and reckless and gets involved in constant brawls. He is also a straightforward guy and almost never backs out of a fight. Mereoleona’s personality is also somewhat the same. She is brash, powerful, and is feared by others.

In fact, even the strongest captains of the Magic Knights try to avoid getting into conflict with her. Both Yami and the haughty Noelle try to avoid her as much as possible and become childishly tame at her mention. Both Natsu and Mereoleona demand respect for their presence, especially due to their strengths and no-nonsense attitudes.

Coming to their abilities, both characters are fire users. Natsu is adept at Dragon Magic and uses it in combat. He can generate fire, whose temperature depends on his emotional state. He can incorporate flames in different ways to defeat his opponents. Mereoleona also has fire magic and uses it to generate and manipulate fire. Often she shapes fire into a lion’s paw to attack her enemies. Her skill also protects her from being burned by lava.

Since both Natsu and Mereoleona are fire attribute users, their powers can basically cancel out, theoretically. But if one thinks on a more practical level, Natsu does have one advantage over her. He can consume any kind of power and become more powerful due to it. Thus, he can deem Mereoleona’s attacks useless by simply eating her flames.

However, Mereoleona can withstand lava due to her power. It is currently unknown just how hot Natsu’s flames can get, but if it’s hotter than lava, then maybe he could wound her. But at the end of the day, their fire powers could cancel each other, which would make the battle boil down to physical strength and endurance. So why would win if they fought in a hand to hand combat?

Once again, Natsu has an advantage. Natsu is able to crush minerals that are harder than diamonds with his bare hands and has immense speed and reflexes. He also has impressive resistance against attacks. On many occasions, he has taken some powerful attacks head on and still stood to fight back. Also, he is an extremely proficient unarmed fighter. He prefers combining his magic with punches, kicks and other physical attacks.

Mereoleona, on the other hand, also possesses immense strength, speed, and endurance. She also conjoins magic with hand to hand combat techniques. But her endurance is not as tested in the manga as Natsu’s. This is a given since she is simply a supporting character, rather than the protagonist like Natsu. Thus, due to Natsu’s fire-eating abilities, flame temperature control and greater endurance, he might be stronger than Mereoleona.

But the one upper hand that Natsu does have over Mereoleona is his Lightning Fire Dragon Mode, in which he ate lightning and had the flames and lightning fuse together inside his body. While Mereoleona is immune to fire, lightning might not be her forte. But Mereoleona might beat Natsu if she battles him in a moving vehicle.
