However, it was George Takei, notable for playing Captain Hikaru Sulu in The Original Series and the movies, who left a major mark on Galecki, as the actor later spoke highly of his experience with the Star Trek star.

During his conversation with Conan O’Brien (via Team Coco), Johnny Galecki expressed his fascination with George Takei, who appeared as himself in episode 4 of season 4, The Hot Troll Deviation.

Elaborating on it, the actor added that Takei’s Shakespearean aura left a lasting impression on him. Further gushing about the Star Trek star, Galecki recalled their time at the craft service, adding “Just the way he puts things, he said ‘Oh it’s fruity at Bovine’”.
I was fascinated with how grandiose he is and it’s almost like he’s doing an impersonation of himself… One day and I think there were like swordfish fajitas or something and just the way he puts things he said ‘Oh it’s fruity at Bovine’.
The Big Bang Theory star recounted being flattered after Takei revealed that he had attended one of his plays in New York, which required Galecki to be n-de, but the actor confessed he was also a little frightened by the compliment.

Although Galecki had a memorable experience with the Star Trek actor, not every member of the main cast is a fan of the pop culture behemoth. Ironically, Jim Parsons, whose TBBT counterpart is a huge geek when it comes to Star Trek and Dr. Who, famously revealed (via TIME) that he has no interest in these IPs, and in turn, pop culture.
I’m very frank about certain things, I get asked a lot of science things and I’m like, ‘You’re kidding’. And even the pop culture… I’ve never seen Star Trek. I don’t know Doctor Who.
Even though the revelation was definitely startling for fans of the show, this further highlights his brilliance in the role, as the actor shares minuscule traits with his sitcom counterpart.
