Marvel Studios is reportedly gearing up to expand its small-screen slate with a familiar face at the center. A new report suggests a fan-favorite character from the studio’s television past is lining up for another solo outing. The project marks a notable addition to the MCU’s evolving Disney+ strategy.
New Jessica Jones series rumored to be in works at Marvel
Marvel Studios is developing a new Jessica Jones project, according to a report from industry insider MyTimeToShineHello. The scooper posted the update on X, confirming the project is in active development at the studio. This marks the character’s first standalone venture since the original Netflix series concluded.

Krysten Ritter originated the role of Jessica Jones in the Netflix series that ran from 2015 to 2019. The character also appeared in The Defenders crossover event alongside Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. Marvel Studios absorbed these properties following the dissolution of the Netflix deal and Marvel Television.
Ritter’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe was recently confirmed through Daredevil: Born Again Season 3. Set photos from the currently filming third season show Ritter in costume alongside Finn Jones and Mike Colter. The images tease a broader Defenders reunion within the Born Again narrative framework.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is currently airing new episodes on Disney+. The fifth episode, “The Grand Design,” featured the return of Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson through flashback sequences. The series synopsis reads, “Across eight gripping episodes, survival, resistance and redemption collide as the battle for the soul of New York begins.”
The season 2 synopsis continues, “In Season 2, Mayor Wilson Fisk crushes New York City underfoot as he hunts down public enemy number one, the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante known as Daredevil. But beneath the horned mask, Matt Murdock will try to fight back from the shadows to tear down the Kingpin’s corrupt empire and redeem his home. Resist. Rebel. Rebuild.”
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 releases new episodes Tuesdays at 9 PM on Disney+. Season 3 is currently in production. Details regarding the new Jessica Jones project, including format, release window, and creative team, remain undisclosed by Marvel Studios.
