Hulu renews Paradise for a third and final season as Dan Fogelman’s political thriller heads toward its planned conclusion.
Deadline reported that Hulu confirmed on March 17, 2026, that Paradise will return for a third season, two weeks before the Season 2 finale aired on March 30. The renewal came just ahead of the Season 2 finale. Creator Dan Fogelman originally pitched the series as a three-season story, and that plan remains intact.
Disney reportedly approached Fogelman about extending the series to a fourth season, but he declined in order to protect the creative plan. The show has now been streamed for nearly 13 billion minutes globally across both seasons, per Disney’s internal data.
Season 3 will be the last. Executive producer John Hoberg told The Hollywood Reporter that the creative team already knows how the series ends and that the conclusion would make Season 4 very difficult to follow.
Paradise Season 3 Expected Release Timeline

No official premiere date has been set. The show’s own release pattern, however, offers a reasonable reference point.
Season 1 premiered in January 2025. Season 2 followed in February 2026, roughly a 12-to-13-month gap. If that rhythm holds, an early 2027 window is the most grounded projection available.
Production indicators support that timeline. Fogelman has already finished writing Season 3. Creator Dan Fogelman confirmed to Variety that filming begins April 7, 2026, running through mid-August, a detail Brown had earlier hinted at on the That Was Us podcast. As of April 4, 2026, production is confirmed to be underway on schedule. That puts post-production on a plausible track for an early 2027 release. (via Collider)
Paradise is not a light production. The show’s bunker settings, visual effects work, and story elements tied to time require a substantial post-production effort. Even so, with the scripts done and cameras expected to roll shortly, a 2027 debut remains realistic. (via RadioTimes)
Executive producer John Hoberg described Season 3 in the same Variety interview as a “pretty definitive” ending for the story, and teased that the season will explore a multiverse concept tied to the Season 2 finale’s supercomputer ‘Alex’ reveal. Sterling K. Brown echoed this, connecting the show’s recurring dreams between Xavier and Link/Dylan to the possibility that events may have already played out across timelines.
Paradise Season 3 Cast: Which Key Characters Are Likely to Return
No official cast announcements have been made. Based on where Season 2 left off, most of the core ensemble is expected back.
Sterling K. Brown returns as Agent Xavier Collins. Julianne Nicholson, as Samantha Redmond, remains central to the bunker’s leadership dynamics. Sarah Shahi’s Dr. Gabriela Torabi is tied to key political and personal storylines. Enuka Okuma, whose character Teri drove much of Season 2’s emotional momentum, is also expected to return.
Among the supporting cast, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Krys Marshall, Percy Daggs IV, Charlie Evans, and Aliyah Mastin are all connected to unresolved storylines. Thomas Doherty’s Link remained a significant presence throughout Season 2, making his return likely as well.
Shailene Woodley‘s Annie died in Season 2, a death that directly shaped Xavier’s path going forward. The show has used flashbacks to revisit past characters, so a brief appearance is possible. Her primary storyline, though, concluded in Season 2.
James Marsden‘s President Cal Bradford is less straightforward. His arc grew increasingly layered across both seasons. Flashback appearances remain an option, but a full return is not confirmed. Notably, Stephen King publicly praised the series on Threads, calling Season 1 good and Season 2 ‘even better’, a signal of the show’s growing cultural footprint heading into its final chapter. Jon Beavers, a recurring guest star in Season 2, is also connected to unresolved threads heading into the final season.
