The release of every installment in the WWE gaming franchise is awaited with a sense of nostalgic glee for fans. However, this year is a little different. It appears that Brock Lesnar, an icon in combat sports and one of the leading faces of the WWE, has been dropped from the WWE 2K24 cover poster.
This move comes in the wake of Brock Lesnar being linked to the lawsuit against former Executive Chairman of TKO Holdings, Vince McMahon. The wrestling world has been in turmoil ever since the allegations against McMahon were made public, and it seems the entity is looking to distance itself from anyone who has anything to do with this case.

Wrestling journalist Andrew Ravens was the sleuth who noticed the change in the new poster for WWE 2K24. He created a side-by-side comparison of the original cover and the newest version of the 40 Years of WrestleMania edition of the game and shared the post on his X feed.
As we can see, the original poster featured Lesnar quite prominently on the left-hand side. However, the updated version seems to have replaced him with an enlarged picture of John Cena. This has sparked debate on whether Brock Lesnar will be featured in the game, which is slated for release on 8 March 2024. IGN reported their source close to the matter stated actions are underway to update the game due to the ongoing developments regarding Brock Lesnar’s connection to the Vince McMahon lawsuit.

Some reports suggest that WWE is dropping Brock Lesnar from their creative plans entirely. This is a major step, especially with the 40th WrestleMania just around the corner. Brock “The Beast Incarnate” Lesnar has been a long-standing favorite in the event, so his absence will definitely be felt by fans. However, given the seriousness of the lawsuit, it makes sense why WWE is taking such steps.

Rumors suggest Lesnar was also going to take part in January’s men’s Royal Rumble, but it ended up being another canceled event. The root cause of all of this appears to be the Vince McMahon lawsuit, and while the case is still ongoing, it is going to greatly impact the careers of all those involved.
