Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Gets a Delayed Release Date

Fans of Nickelodeon’s very own Super Smash Bros., All-Star Brawl, will have to wait a few more days to get their hands on the crossover fighting sequel. The second instalment in the game series is being developed by Ludosity and Fair Play Labs, with GameMill Entertainment taking care of the publishing. Unfortunately, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 has been delayed, but thankfully, the release date has not been pushed too far from its initial one.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 was originally supposed to be released at the very beginning of next month, on November 3. However, with a delay of exactly four days, the game is now scheduled to launch on November 7. It definitely could have been worse.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2’s Digital and Physical Releases
Both the digital and physical editions of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 have been delayed.
Publisher GameMill Entertainment shared the announcement on X on Tuesday, in which it also stated the reason why Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 has been delayed. In fact, both its digital and physical versions now have new release dates. As mentioned before, the game will initially be released digitally on November 7, which is four days later than originally planned.

However, physical media enthusiasts will have to wait for around a month longer since Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2‘s physical edition will now be released on December 1. According to GameMill Entertainment, the reason for the launch date “moving slightly” is that the development team is looking “to put the finishing touches on” the upcoming platform fighter.
The publisher kept it vague without really explaining exactly what these final “touches” to the game include, leaving it up to fan speculation.
It kind of makes sense why the developer and publisher would want to take a couple of days to release Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 in its complete and perfect form because of its fighting genre. Launching a buggy, glitchy, or messy crossover fighter would result in the game’s instant irrelevance since these kinds of games need to click with the player base as soon as possible for eventual longevity.
One major and relatively recent example that comes to mind is Capcom’s Street Fighter V, which did not exactly have the most ideal launch back in 2016, with the community pointing out plenty of issues in its extremely rushed base version.
The most problematic aspects of that game were the lacklustre and incomplete roster of fighters and the absence of the beloved Arcade Mode that fans had been looking forward to in the next Street Fighter instalment. Naturally, the reception was as amazing as it could have been, and Capcom had to release a whole new edition, which was more complete, to gain back the trust of the community.
GameMill Entertainment is playing it cautious and smart with its upcoming release, taking its required time and making sure that Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 does not make the same mistake.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Digital Version Has a Bonus Item
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2‘s digital version comes out on November 7, and the physical edition releases on December 1.
Fans who have been thinking of buying the digital edition of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 would be doing themselves a favor if they waited a little before getting the game before its release. This is because all those players who get its digital edition in the week after the game’s launch will be given a Patrick’s Elastic Waistband costume as a bonus item. To make things a bit more clear, buying the digital version of the game from November 7 to November 14 will let you claim the extra outfit.

In addition to the delayed release dates for all platforms, publisher GameMill Entertainment also shared an update about the Nintendo Switch version of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. According to the post, although the Switch edition of the upcoming crossover fighter is also “physical,” it just means that it is a “code in box at this point in time.” So, Nintendo Switch players should only expect a digital code with their copy, not an actual physical cartridge.
The finishing touches on Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 should definitely be worth the wait because the sequel is set to feature brand new iconic characters from many people’s childhoods.
These include Squidward Tentacles from the popular SpongeBob SquarePants franchise and Jimmy Neutron. Of course, All-Star Brawl OGs like SpongeBob himself and Avatar: The Last Airbender‘s Aang will be returning as well.
